My ancestors never signed up to live in a country where we have no death penalty, but here we are. My ancestors never signed up have a bunch of w@nkers and bankers run the country either, but we have them. Things change, things progress and we end up in the usual sh*t, but that's just life.Gaston, it's nothing to do with News papers and not being able to read!
We are a sovereign nation, a foreign government is passing laws to us. Changing our lives for good. Our ancestors didn't sign up to this nor have they or we ever voted for this!
Fair enough if the British government (if independent) says we're banning toothbrush motors over 10w then fair enough we can debate it.
For our 73 meps it is impossible to debate the laws and have influence when there are 751 meps in the EU.. even if 60 British meps disagree to the new laws they will get passed anyway because of the shear numbers against us.
The last generation signed up to Ted Heaths dream of being in the EU. Sure Harold gave them the opt out, those that could voted chose not to. Those MP's *puke* we have directly elected since then have not decided to leave or allow us to choose, until that is it's to their advantage, e.g. to try make themselves electable, so they can again fill their and their mates pocket with Joe Publics money. My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far

We didnt sign up to the above, obviously. but they was the rules of the land! You have to follow.. Oh i love the last paragraph.. makes absolute perfect reading.. as this is what the tories and lablib want you to think.
I will say it once only!
We did not sign up to a european union.
We signed up to a common market where trade was free between the tiny few member states.
It has evolved into a political union and will before you know it turn into a political empire.
We will never agree with this, the only way is to have a referendum.. which atm we will never hold.Comment

and not one of those self serving MP's in London bothered to question it because they had their heads up their own ar$es filling their pockets for money. It's the MP's in London who could have vetoed the way the EU has changed and they didn't even bother - until it's time for elections where they realise they may lose their jobs. So it's clear for you "the MP's in London failed to stop this happening"We didnt sign up to the above, obviously. but they was the rules of the land! You have to follow.. About right as well, as long as the people who control things keep filling their pockets.which atm we will never holdLast edited by GastonJ; 7 September, 2014, 10:03.My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far

Manufacturers are doing nothing to increase the efficiency of the gear they pump out. in essence churning out the same old gear, just in a different configuration.
We did the same with cars. penalties or incentives sometimes both, have had a massive effect on the efficiency of the cars we buy now.
So, if you put an upper limit, of power, on new cleaners. makers will be forced to develop more efficient gear in order to compete.
this should/is or will be done with all electronic gear.
this law was not imposed on us. the UK government fully agreed with, and signed up to, all of this.Comment

and why not. As petrol/diesel has got more expensive cars have been made to do more MPG. Fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher manufacturers have made their appliances to use less electricity since prices have risen over the years, I don't see why hairdryer manufacturers and the like can't do the same. At the end of teh day it means you pay less in running costs

I had a Rover SD1 V8, one summer and it was fun. Even took it to safari park, looked a bit odd when the monkeys had ripped off the wiper blades and the camel had sanded the paintwork down on the door as it itched itself. Was a quick car though, which was lucky, had to get to petrol stations really fast to keep filling it up
