One Tory mp and governed from London, how can they possibly look after Scotland's best interests?.I fully buy the bit about Cameron saying how much we mean to team GB and it being from his heart and head. Lets face it the Tories do absolutely everything from the heart and head. I mean who can even think of the last time they never shafted Joe public. Aye right. We have one Tory MP. We don't like most of their policies, we are a burden yet as he's all heart he wants us to stay together. There can't possibly be an underlying natural resources reason.
Can anyone look at Scotland right now and tell me a good reason to stay in the union?.

Sadly common sense is taxed and that's why Cameron needs the Scots. Any one living in Scotland and not wanting Independence obviously don't realise that Politicians don't do anything for the people just their own interests. The Tories need our resources to balance the books and cover for the pending banking failure when they all move their headquarters over seas to avoid taxes. Labour need to stay in the Union so their top Politicians can maintain their Westminster salaries and Champagne Socialist values. It's strange that some low level Labour Politicians support Independence but the top ones don't.
Taking the oil out of the equation we've still got the majority of wind and Hydro power. Top Universities, Bio Science, Tourism, fishing, Whisky and plenty more resources to pay for our small population of just over 5,000,000. Even our manufacturing industry turned over 14.7billion at the last count. We don't need the burden of having to play to the World stage and the expense that involves. In short we'd be one of the richest small countries in the World and make our own decisions. It's common sense really.Comment

It's the agreement whereby the rest of the EU travel around and through each country without the need for a passport, except when they enter or leave the UK when passport control want to see them. Unsure why we never joined it other than to make sure everyone in the UK registered to get their ID (and pay ?50 when I last renewed mine) by any other means than registering for a national ID card *shrug*My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.
No good deed goes unpunished....

None of that really matters at this point anyway. Any figures and statistics quoted by anyone about how much revenue Scotland has, or may have, will be skewed by those who either support or don't support the case for independence. Yes the oil and gas is there, but it will eventually run out (so people keep saying), unsure when. If Scotland are independent at that point and don't have sufficient oil revenue will they be coming cap in hand back to the rest of the UK to bail them out, which would be the biggest climb down ever for the sake of the egos of a few *shrug*My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far

What does Independence mean? Well it first of all means that we are not voting for Mr Salmond or SNP he just happens to be the instigator. If Scotland achieves Independence they could then look at the politics and try to change them and maybe start to make people accountable in society instead of burying our heads in the sand. Scotland will never come cap in hand not in my lifetime or my siblings. One thing for sure I have yet to listen to an informative answer from Mr Cameron as why he would want to keep Scotland. Britain is being governed from London to suit London. Maybe thats what you should really look at south of the border what is London doing for you? Ask those poor people who have been flooded for what seems an eternity and this is 2014 not 1900's. When are the people going to wake up and smell the coffee? Work longer die before you get anything back from what you have put in. What would you want to stay for? I think If you listen to all the negative politics and now all the English relatives phoning us up now tugging our heart strings your head will be like scrambled eggs. Psychology is great is it not. For every negative comment I could give you a positive one. It's not about us being better than anyone the vote will be about the future of Scotland and no one should take that personally they should take it seriously. There are things like trident issue me personally I thought all those billions could have gone towards our pensions, local sevices etc etc But if the Americans want to pour money into our economy by us keeping it for them so be it. We have a great economy in Scotland and if so called businesses don't want to locate here then bye bye as there will always be another willing to do so. I can't stand scaremongering we have all the academia and the know how it's whether we want to vote for it or not. Let Mr Salmond and Mr Cameron have a debate maybe then we will find out a few home truths. Maybe your own MP's can debate with Mr Cameron on what he has done for you lately. Love thy neighbour. This opportunity will not come again for the people of Scotland. My vote will go to the most reasoned and informative argument.Comment

You hit the nail on the head if we were worthless they would drop us like a hot brick.
We don't just have oil we have massive fishing grounds all around us as well not to mention the best water supply in the kingdom.

The thing that makes me laugh is we keep getting told "The oil will run out eventually" But with that said the rest of the UK as far as im aware has already "run out" as they didn't bloody have any in the 1st place. Oil is "nice" to have and if we find more it will be a brucie bonus......until it runs out
. The truth is oil is not the end of the story. As above there is plenty more going on and surely it comes down to how we invest our gains from natural resources into looking to the future.
As far as I can see the uk as a whole don't have much in the way of natural resources so what is the big deal of the top part of the uk declaring indi and making do with what we have ? It is nothing personal against the rest of the UK...it is more a thing of we want to decide our own destiny and not be ruled by parties that we would never ever vote for. We will still trade with the UK and the rest of the EU...as we are all adults and business is based on cold hard cash. The media (Some parts led by their political leanings) are trying to make this out to be a anti England anti uk thing. They want to make it feel personal but it is for their own ends.
BTW this stuff has already cost my sister in law her job as the company she works for has already pulled out of Scotland due to the uncertainty....pillocks. Luckily for her she walked straight into another in the same field for an extra ?25k on top of her salary...so as they say every cloud has a silver lining ect ect.Comment
