Govt IP addresses will be getting piles of letters then
bet the BBC get the most!

Gaston its okay your parrot will just get an open university course in media distribution in a monthly information pack "(will send "educational" letters to customers believed to be downloading illegally.)"

My ISP once disconnected my Internet connections based on a flimsy letter from Sony/EMI/BMI - no evidence, just an accusation (and it wasn't downloading). When you live in a city where there can only be one ISP it makes it all the more painful. Had to quote the Misuse of Computers Act and the words "criminal offence - means I report you to the police and insist they make arrests" at my ISP's legal team but was reconnected within an hour Now I have a server watching them, watching me and it's been a standoff like that for the last 8 years now *shrug*

The rights holders will receive a monthly break down of how many alerts have been sent out, but only the ISPs will know the identities of the customers involved.
How many seconds after it's implemented before the ISP's are forced to give the customer information out? Either through a court by shysters or without a warrant by an LEA? (same as RIPA)

For that you don't get a prison sentence since you'd have to be sectioned for insanity, no need to even plead insanity everyone would know you were.

Ok in topic, what are the charges for ship lifting a DVD, say day of the triffids, behind the green door, or something.

what is the difference between down load something and shop lifting music?

if you get banned, just go to next shop. (iShit Failiure) hate it

                      No difference at all really.

OK, and here goes my opinion FWIW...

                      1) If I download a music CD and don't like it, I delete it. Not really cost anyone anything since I've not kept it and no sales were lost - unless you take into account option 2.
                      2) If I go into a shop and buy a CD and don't like it then I've already paid, tough sh*t, but the shop has made a sale.

I prefer option tbh, though I'm sure the music industry and shops would sooner sell me CD's in a shop so that they've made a sale whether I like it or not. Same goes for software really. They should do more try before you buy, though they'd lose sales that way becuase people wouldn't end up buying some sh*t music or sh*t software.

Stock in the shops has already been paid for by the retailer. So the rights holders don't care about shop lifting, it doesn't effect their profits.

By the sounds of it, if you're unlucky, you'll get some letters from your ISP asking you to use Itunes or Amazon. But nothing else will happen.

An easy way around any type of legal action.... You keep your router on the window sill. Anyone passing could read your access code & use your internet.
Only use one pc/laptop/tablet/phone for your naughty downloads. Just make sure there are no personal details kept on it or the phone/tablet is registered to someone else.

It wasn't me, someone hacked our internet.

canker "so I'm told" spoofing a IP address is simpler than learning to tie a shoelace?
It isn't proof that you stole, download, watched anything!
Unless pc plod is going to hide behind your curtain he won't witness the act of theft, therefore no case to prove.
Every time one of these stories are published the dumbness of the so called journalist, experts etc are highlighted
IP checks have shown govt officials are some of the worst offenders am I suprised

I have no internet. But my neighbours do . One of the benefits of fixing peoples computers...access to wifi codes. I won't be getting any letters
