    job or no dole

NEARLY 50,000 under-25s will lose their dole cash if they fail to take up new jobs being offered today.

Work secretary Yvette Cooper has teamed up with firms to offer 47,000 positions to youngsters on the dole long-term.

They MUST take the positions offered or lose welfare handouts under a new crackdown.

It is part of a Government drive unveiled today to save a generation from ruin in the recession.

Ministers will also call on Britain's bosses to offer unpaid internships and other positions to school and college leavers.

The 47,000 new posts will be made available to those out of work more than 12 months.

They include working as care assistants for the sick and elderly and as sports coaches in schools.

Miss Cooper said: "We are determined not to lose a generation of talent to the recession."

Ministers will unveil a Backing Young Britain strategy to help under-25s through the recession.

Firms will be paid by part of a ?1billion Future Jobs Fund. UK firms have so far come up with 5,000 apprenticeships and work experience spots.

A website will be set up offering 2,000 internships for school and college leavers.

They include major companies like Microsoft, M&S and Network Rail.

Business secretary Lord Mandelson and welfare supremo Yvette Cooper are calling on more firms to take part.

This Government have already created hundreds of thousands non-productive jobs. Were are they getting the money for this, we are up to our necks in debt.

That'll never happen....I'll be highly surprised if it does. It's all BS anyway all to make the unemployment figures artificially look better than they really are.

It's like this, if people are found by the dole office to be purposely not working then they should be given the ultimatum of we've gotten wise to you, sign off now or face prosecution as they would be in direct violation of the JSA contract. But they don't do that. They know, but they don't do anything. But what they actually do is force people onto "work training" courses after 6 months for a period of time, whereby they still receive dole for attendence however they are inexplicably classed as no longer unemployed while they are on these courses, even though while they are on the course they have no job - gee I wonder why they are classed as not unemployed ? Could government figures have something to do with it ? I think so.

But here's a great idea, instead of attempting to force under 25's into work, and therefore into likely dead end jobs - why not make it financially more beneficial (at least equal relative to dole amount) for people to go to college who want to better themselves - because ?30 per week for attending on a full time course as it is just doesn't cut it, not when under 25's especially have the option of going on the dole, getting alot more money and doing nothing for it except sit at home all day and sign a document once per fortnight. Believe it or not alot of people can't or won't do fulltime college AND a part time job simultaneously just to cover finances that they should really be getting anyway just for being at college.

Government just makes it too easy for people to sign on, I guarantee to you if the money was equal or especially slightly more than on a weekly basis for full time college as it is on the dole there would be more people in college attempting to make something of themselves and there would be less people on the dole.

Reason being that there's alot of people that would love to go to college and try to better themselves but it's just not financially viable - unless of course you happen to blag your way into university and apply for a student loan. And this is based purely off money coming in, I haven't even included the other benefits people may be receiving while on the dole which raises the question of what happens to those persons who are having their rent paid aswell are these people going to be made homeless ? It's the same typical sh*t anyway - yet another instance of jerking off the British people in some form or another all to free up resources that we don't have, for the immigrant people coming in as cheap labour at best. That's the only reason they are trying to do it, it's got nothing to do with skills, most people on the dole would end up with gun to the head forced into dead end jobs with zero prospects because they don't have the skills or qualifications for anything else, and if the government were so bothered about losing skilled British people to the recession then maybe they would do alot more to keep the skilled British workers from leaving in the first place. Which by the way there's a reason for that too, the mass emigration of skilled British workers.

Honestly, with all the scandals and constant flow of BS from the government, I tell you reading between the lines it's almost as if they are deliberately trying to insight civil unrest and that's to put it mildly.

dont think they are fiddling figures as there is thousands being taken off incapacity benefit and are having to claim jsa for first time in yrs and yrs. some claim esa (employment and support allowance) as this replaced incapacity benefit. the back offices in the dwp cant cope with the workload and are weeks behind in processing claims therefore crisis loan claims go through the roof - making the situation even worse. my ex sister in law hasnt had a proper job for nearly 20 yrs. no kids etc. i dont know how the ~~~~ she has got away with it - she is 52 now so they shouldnt just be tackling young people.
