The Scottish people will decide who would be the prime minister in an independent Scotland- maybe we will choose the person who can eat the most deep fried mars bars in a minute!!!

I don't care whether the Scots say yes or no but what I do not understand is how come only the Scots get to vote. If The Union is to be dissolved then that affects every member of the Union, not just the Scots so every member of The Union should vote on it. The Scots would not let that happen because they know that if the English voted on it then they would be out whereas with only them voting they know the answer will be no and they will stay in and hope to wring more from the real providers in the Union by pointing at how close it was.

                That should raise some steam.

I see this thread has gone the way of most threads on here

On another note if the vote is yes you could see why companies would head out of Scotland in their droves. Is this supposed to inspire confidence in those voters who work for companies that the Yes campaigners will be targeting should the vote be yes? The new slogan "Vote yes and we'll ensure your company leave or are nationalised"

BBC News - Scottish independence: Jim Sillars warns of 'day of reckoning'

A former deputy leader of the SNP has warned "scaremongering" business leaders they face a "day of reckoning" if Scotland votes for independence.
Jim Sillars accused some of "subverting Scotland's democratic process" and called for oil firm BP to be nationalised after independence.
A number of banks and retail figures have made high-profile interventions in recent days.

Mr Sillars appeared beside Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond and his deputy Nicola Sturgeon at a pro-independence event earlier this week

Speaking on the campaign trail in Edinburgh's Wester Hailes area from his Margo Mobile, named in memory of his late wife, Margo MacDonald MSP, Mr Sillars said oil giant BP would face nationalisation in an independent Scotland.

He said: "This referendum is about power, and when we get a 'Yes' majority we will use that power for a day of reckoning with BP and the banks.
"The heads of these companies are rich men, in cahoots with a rich English Tory Prime Minister, to keep Scotland's poor poorer through lies and distortions. The power they have now to subvert our democracy will come to an end with a 'Yes'.
"BP, in an independent Scotland, will need to learn the meaning of nationalisation, in part or in whole, as it has in other countries who have not been as soft as we have been forced to be.
"As for the bankers: your casino days, rescued by socialisation of your liabilities while you waltz off with the profits, will be over."
Mr Sillars added: "What kind of people do these companies think we are? They will find out."

Guys what do you think should happen if a yes vote becomes reality.
As a member of the rest of the uk should a currency agreement be negotiated between the two countries. How do feel about Scotland walking away debt free if it cannot be agreed.

No, independence means just that, Scotland should use nothing that is owned by the rest of the UK. Can't have your cake and eat it. Walk away debt free by not paying, do so and have a junk credit rating, way to go. Since the yes campaign is busy threatening banks, where do you think Scotland will get it's credit from if it takes that action?

In actual fact he does have a point, many people I have spoken to will be moving their bank accounts to organisations that have remained neutral in the debate. I will be moving my bank accounts next week and will stop shopping at asda and tesco opting now for morrisons who have already stated that they see no reasons why shopping will increase in independent Scotland. Perhaps aldi or lidl can show the big boys how to expand into multi countries, keep prices low and make an incredible success of your company in doing so.

Why would Scotland get a bad credit rating. The debt is owed by restUK not Scotland. Can you explain this please.

Scotland should also pay back the money we bought Scotland with in the first place, with interest compounded by the minute. To now declare independence it can only ever have been a loan anyway.

I never referenced SNP the article did, the fact that he was stood with Alex and Nicola when he said it speaks volumes and is a fact. Oh I forgot facts are the strong point in the Yes campaign are they

Oh and I dislike politicians equally, no matter which party or what they're doing.

Mr sillars has been campaigning and touring Scotland for the past two years as an independent person advocating a yes vote. Him and his wife R.IP(Margo) are very respected politicians in Scotland held in very high esteem as honest politicians.
Makes me proud that they undertook a tour to enhance our understanding of independence and what it means for ordinary working class scots.
