Take it from someone thats servered in the Army our boys want to be in conflict. Thats the whole point of joining the Army they are getting paid to do what they joined up for be it in Iraq or Afghanistan. I understand how civillians find this hard to accept but it is the truth.

hey...im new here...i am currently serving in afganistan and ive been in the military since 1972. its sad that soldiers die, but from day one they train to fight and train to die. it happens and is a fact of life. pray for the fallen.
my purpose is to find out what fta receiver i need to watch tv here in shindand, afghanistan. i would like to watch american football in the fall. can anyone help me out here?

We should trust our politicians what they are up to is for our benefit and sacrifice of our boys and girls they are very brave force not like some sitting on the benefit and not doing anything.

Anybody who undertakes a job in the armed forces are fully aware that they might be called upon to fight, be it in Northern Ireland in the 70's and 80's Falklands in the 80's or any other conflict. As a previous poster has stated they don't go into battle wanting or expecting to die but deep down know its more than a possibility this could happen. In my opinion anyone joining the armed forces is incredibly brave and I take my hat off to them they deserve praise not derision.

We should bring all our troops home. After all how many terrorist attacks did we get from Muslims before we invaded afghan and Irak. They say their there to protect us from attack but watch the news on 11.11.11 and see them protest at the ceremonies, THEY are already here. We should bring our boys and girls home to protect our borders here and sent over to afghan all the ones that want to support the Taliban.Watch them bleat then about their rights and freedom and benefits.
I say this with my young nephew just sent to Helmand and pray he returns safe.

i don't think we should get out. if we do then the place will be overrun by the taliban and the country will become a massive training zone for terrorists.

Perhaps we shouldn't have gone there to start with, but that is a different matter. Now we are they we must stay until the job's done. Like I said earlier those who do join up do so knowing full well that they will go to Afghanistan, so the people who go have chosen to go and they know the risks involved.

So what do we do now mate just stay there forever and watch our young soldiers bleed and have their limbs blown off by a people who dont give a flying ~~~~ about them and who would shoot them in the back given half a chance. Get them out now and let them get on with it.
