    Library Closures

"Campaigners across the country have been fighting to keep libraries threatened by cuts open to the public"

I suppose closing libraries are a sensible target if Councils are to save money, because they?re not essential...

Imagine how much money our council will able to save if there were no free school dinner, free bus pass, no disability parking, dismantle road lights, etc….
Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

Did you know People will question all the good things they hear about you but believe all the bad without a second thought.

Yes, there is a lot of savings to be made, to help keep council tax bills low for hard working council tax payers who do not claim in-work benefits.
      Yes... abolish free school meals.
      Yes... abolish ‘free’ bus pass.
Yes... keep disabled spaces, but charge for them.
No... dismantle road lights..sure they’re needed

Have you ever known a council make cuts and then lower the council tax? Of course not, all that happens is the council make cuts and the money goes off on some really stupid scheme instead, like a stupid television in the city centre such as this

Thankfully it was removed in 2009, but not before it had cost in excess of ?650,000.

As for the libraries... I'm waiting for the mass book burnings that right wing parties tend to have when they think they are popular with plenty of to follow them. No need for libraries if you've burnt all the books, and since there are no books you won't need schools to teach people to read... and so it goes.

My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.
        No good deed goes unpunished....

THIUGHT this is what tax $$$$ went towards instead of funding MP etc.

thing is, councils/goverment can't recycle money.

sake of argument one speeding camera in London it creates enough money
          to fund all libraries.

here in m/c parking lot just 1 makes ?125,000 / year, but having said that
ciungil did just spend ??????????????????? repairing one!

Hey, maybe the right wing parties are already winning (opps.. they have won..they voted for David Cameron) because when I’ve visited libraries there’s always more library staff than library users.. And when I have seen library users..they’re playing with computers and not reading books... You’re right though, saving on council spending will never reduce council tax bills.... and savings will usually be spent on some other crap...at least when Hull bought the stupid TV, some private contractors would’ve got the work installing it...work shared to the private sector.. Anyway, I’m delighted to hear of library closures.. rather have money spent on some other crap.
