Fair enough point but in my opinion he got it for 18 years of being consistent at the very top level, Bale on the other hand got it for a few performances in the group stages and premiliary rounds of the champions league.

That's just it though he didn't get it for a lifetime achievement he got it for the Player of the year. Giggs was and still is a top class player but he didn't deserve the award when he got it. As already stated in this thread the problem is, the votes are cast too early.

Giggs deserved it in seasons past and never got it and then all of a sudden they decided to give it to him when he hadnt had a particularly good season. Just shows you what incompetence is running our football and then we have a go at the players for not wanting to play for the national side. They more likely know the corruption that goes on within.

Ah but Giggs is still gaining 1st team football at a top four side as is Lamps but Gerrards seeing his less than illustrious career out next to Bolton Wanderes and what not

Gerrard could WALK in any other 11 outside the top four but he be nowt but a squad player for any of the big four now. He was a great talent with drive and ambition but injury and failure are ultimately visible in his game now.

i said it was more a lifetime achievement award than for his performances for us i think he only made 12 league starts

where is the n.o.g. do you get it from??? a 2nd rate spent force!!!! since when? and try to explain, logically and sensibly, WHY?...
how many times in the last 46 years have we not qualified for a european competition?
forgetting the 6 year ban, it is 3, repeat, 3 times... if we dont qualify this season, by finishing a "lowly" 6th, that will make it 4...... can you or any other side come anywhere near that??? i doubt it very, very much... if in 3 or 4 years time, we have increased that number, then by all means come back and talk about 2nd rate/spent force.....
