I call it the Loser cup cause Franz Beckenbauer called the UEFA Cup the "Loser Cup" now it's the Europa league. no matter what you call it it's still the Loser Cup. The only thing top clubs play for are the league title and Champion league title everything else is 2nd rate unless they reach the final of their respective cup game IE: FA Cup and so on.

To be fair the whole European competitions are a joke.. Liverpool won the UCL in 2005 after finishing 4th.. Its not the Champions League at all and should be done under trades description..
If i was in charge of UEFA I'd do the following:
Re-brand the Champions League back to the European Champion Clubs' Cup and only allow the CHAMPIONS of each domestic league and the previous seasons European Champion Clubs' Cup winners in (if not qualified already)
The Europa League would be open to the 2nd place teams down to 4th and winners of domestic cup competitions (depending on place allocation to national leagues)
The winners of the Europa League would also get a buy into the European Champion Clubs' Cup for the next season.
This would make the Europa League a credible competition again and worthy of winning
Also once you were knocked out, that would be it.. knocked out.. no dropping down into the Europa League from the European Champion Clubs' CupLast edited by opsmonkey; 18 February, 2011, 22:48.

Its not a loser cup at all... Whoever calls it a mickey mouse cup or the loser cup need to get over themselves, seriously, Its a european cup and a cups a ****ing cup at the end of the season.
There are some good teams wanting to win this cup, we are one of them, Its a lovely cup aswell, real nice, Unfortunately we didnt qualify for CL but we did the Europa League..
So lets win it.

well not posted for a bit was letting the king coming back /torres leaving die down now it has what do we think torres goin not a prob thing that bugggin me is a bit of negativity from kenny mainly due to the subs he using i understand he new to the current season and football being a simple game made hard by people but to put a centre half on and take striker off all be it a poor one worries me in a game that we all could see was there to be won one slip up in return leg an were out is this the way we want to go ?Comment
