personally, i think we are well below what we expect from our club. tonight was tepid to say the least. but a win is a win...

Europa League.. the european version of the Carling Cup.. great just what i wanted for this season..

we should have been up there challenging for the title.. negative tactics from the kick off at spurs have cost us dear.. whipped by portsmouth and only scraping past wolves with 10 men..

please dont tell me an Europa League win recovers our season and is any marker to put faith in Benitez...

His tactics cost us our Champions League place.. if we play as well tonight against Villa we'll get hammered, they tore the mans apart at OT

1st/,so lets get this right..agree we are playing sh1te. but its only 26/12/09. a long way to go. you've given up already!
we need a big, big improvement but most of the players got us to 2nd last season...so they can do it again...
2nd/ whats the difference between the carling cup and the fa cup? NONE...for years it gets you into the uefa/europa cup... say no more..
30 odd years ago we won the uefa cup twice, 74, 76.in 76 we played and beat 3 german sides who finished 2,3, and4th in their league. this was the same as the now champions league.
and the team that villa tore apart ,how did they do at anfield?

we are 12 points off the leaders.. yes it is the same squad.. oh of course minus Alonso who gave Gerrard the freedom to supply Torres.. Gerrard and Torres are way off being anywhere near as good as last year due to injury..

there's hope and blind hope mate..

on current form, tactics and setup we will be lucky to stay 7th..

if you think being one point above Birmingham and 3 above Fulham with them having a game in hand is acceptable then you're on a different football planet to most reds fella

no ,mate, certainly acceptable. been watching us for 55 years and this is probably the worst spell i can remember. but i dont think getting rid of rafa NOW, will help things. as i,ve said before, if the likes of sammy lee and king kenny ,to a degree, cant help rafa ,then what chance have we got?
