opsmonkey the sad thing about Istanbul was everyone thought Rafa was a great coach after that game. We should of beat Milan in the rematch but Rafa ~~~~ed that up. It's great to remember but sometimes when i dwell on the past it starts to feel like the Al Bundy syndrome

To be fair to Benitez everything he did in the CL in 2005 was inch perfect, the double substitution of Pongolle and Mellor against Olympiakos, The home and away tie with Juve, the demolition of Bayer Leverkusen and to bring on Didi Haman in the second half of that final..

That was his crowing glory and never recaptured anything like it again.. His ways degraded into negativity and mediocrity..

This video though was less of dwell on the past but more of a fond look back to a night where we all felt a $1m (unless you were one of the silly tw@s that left the stadium at half time )

Come on, Who ever expected him to live up to the masters success is/was deluded. It was a lose/lose situation going to Inter but he hardly had a choice being forced out of Liverpool. The fact is he'll be lurking round Merseyside for the next 6 months, Possibly waiting for Hodgson to get the chop..?

in 2009 we were 2nd.... we had 1 bad season,in our terms, under rafa, so why all this ant-rafa stuff? i am not saying he should come back or he should have left or was c--p etc, but he did a good a job as all the managers before him, back to king kenny...
