no the change should have been Adam, Downing had a quiet first half, but then produced some fine crosses in the 2nd. Im glad alot of people are finally coming to the same reasoning as myself on Adam, the guy is good at set pieces and his long range passing ability but his overall game is poor. He keeps giving the ball away, looks for the long range pass too much instead of keeping possession and quite frankly cannot tackle plus he doesn't work hard up and down the pitch. At Blackpool he had other players who did his job for him whilst he dilly dallied futher up the pitch, he isn't going to cut it in this team if his work rate doesn't get better.

Hendo was non existent throughout the game Kuyt should be starting im not against Hendo but he shouldnt be a guaranteed starter. Suarez's strop was mainly because of Gerrards return them 2 could of made it alot easier for us in the end had he stayed on the pitch, but the future looks bright now hes back.

Plus points:

1. Carroll should some good touches and linked up well with Suarez, missed a sitter tho.

2. Kelly was brilliant once again, if he keeps injury free think he could replace Johnson as Eng right back.

3. Suarez with another MOTM performance thats nrly every game hes played for us.

4. Gerrard's return he looked in good shape hardly any rust.

Down side:

1. Skrtel is rubbish a total liability doesn't bode well when we have the Toffees n Scum coming nxt, hope COates gets his chance.

2. We need to see more from Hendo n Adam

3. Our defence still needs alot of work, Kelly n Enrique have been our best defenders so faar

I agree Hendo and Adam a lot to prove, Carroll too, Enrique, - brilliant, best signing we made, I like Skrtel, he scores goals too, lately hes been getting forward and having a crack at goal, i like him, Yes Gerrard looks good, see him sprint diagonally across the pitch !!? He looks good !

The one problem i have with Adam, Downing and Henderson is neither can use their right to shoot. Adam might be short on ability but atleast he hustles out their and gives 100%. Downing doesn't want to defend and Henderson is just plain lost out their. I don't think Gerrard will start against Everton either. When he does start i want to see Downing on the bench and Suarez play on the left Kyut on the right and Carrol up front alone with Gerrard in the middle pulling the strings. About Carrol no one should question him since we all know Kenny overpaid for him but now since Gerrard is back i see him scoring a lot of goals.

i havn't seen Adam give 100%, putting Suarez out on the left takes away alot from our attacking strength leave him up top where he belongs. Once Gerrards back to strength i don't see us playing 2 up top too often especially away from home but maybe thats just me

Downing and Enrique are a weapon for wing play, no doubt about it. Once them two get used to each other a lot more its going to be magic.

That's right i really don't like Downing he makes one or two good crosses a game and always wait for someone to give him the ball never trying to win it. About Suarez playing on the left why not then you can play Carrol up front. Wasn't Kyrut a striker when Liverpool sign him and now he plays on the right and does a great job so i see no reason Suarez can't play on the left. Carrol and Suarez playing up front together don't work and Carrol can't play winger. what do you want to see one of them on the bench?

so you would take Suarez our main goal threat and put him out on the wing just to fit Carroll.

1. Kuyt is only out on the wing because he wasn't good enough upfront, hes got better now but still not great, he does a better job on the right coming in.

2. Suarez is our main threat, is good at creating and scoring goals, so why put him on the wing when hes doing what we require from him scoring and creating goals as his main purpose as a striker.

Bellamy can play on the left, not that ive had enough od Downing hes got alot to give to this team. I didn't wnt Downing to sign either but now that he has im gna back him no matter what and i have been more impressed with him then Adam n Hendo.

I like Carroll its just that when he plays most of our players seem to think he has no feet and just plays with his head. He's been peed off with a few of our players this season for lumping it to his head instead of his feet. When we had Crouch we hardly ever played long ball system and i think Carroll's a better player then Crouch and i don't see why we cant play our normal systenm with him.

Saying that i don't think Carroll should play every game, just in certain games with the likes of Stokes, Sunderlands, but because of his fee he will probly play quite a few games. Evevn though i hate to say it old Fergus has got the right idea, its not how much you paid for a player its whats best for the team. Just look at Berbe on the bench wasn't he a 30 mill plus buy? yet Fergus plays Hernandez n Rooney n now Wellbeck because it works better for the team
