The club usually do business behind closed doors and would imagine are fuming with Whelan leaking all this information.
One thing we can defiantly establish Roberto is a serious contender, no smoke without fire.
Not sure he is the right man to lead us forward 95% of fans do not want him at Liverpool and can see why saving wigan from relegation albeit playing attractive football is not the type of CV, we should be looking at.
If things do not go as planned ie bad results can see alot of fans getting annoyed.
However if he starts well brings in good signings, I think the fans will be patient with him.
Would have preferred somebody who has experience in winning trophy's or even keeping a club in the top half of the table.
FSG are walking a fine line and if they do appoint him will either be a genius move or a total disaster.

              Hi

At this stage according to a guy who claims to be ITK on the lfc forum, RM has not been offered the job as yet but thinks he will be offered it come next week.

RM wants some clarity, hes happy to work with a dof as long as both people know each others exact roles and RM wants to have the last say on players.

Ive been following that thread for a week now and at times its been very entertaining and for me think he has been quite accurate/close on what he has been saying so far.

              Regards

The thing LFC always do, is business the right way. The club has a reputation in Europe for that - I hope the Americans get that and keep it going.

So Wolfpack when you wanted to get rid of KD was Brendan Rodgers on your list of managers to replace him? I think not...

Out of the ones that were linked with us I wanted Pep but i couldn't see that happening, so I wanted AVB and think we could have got him had we not been so keen on having a DOF. Between Martinez and Rodgers i think both play similar styles of football.

I don't know why but for some reason i beleive in Rodger's more then I did with Roy Hodgson, good luck to him he's going to have to hit the ground running or we could be faced with a Roy Hodgeson situation again.

I hope he gives some of our youth a chance from the reserves.

Is LVG next to sign according to the BBC the DOF position looks 'up in the air' at the moment even tho FSG are so adamant on having a DOF.

Brendan Rodgers will be named manager officially in 24 hours time he has apparantly signed a 3-year contract.

It's a brave appointment to be fair to the owners. I like Rodgers and I wouldnt be surprised to see him succeed if he's given time but I wonder if the fans will give him that time. Gylfi Sigurdsson will be on his way with Rodgers if he is made LFC manager

Gylfi Sigurdsson looked a decent player last seaso for Swansea, but he was there because Swansea needed him, im not sure we do. Besides he's agreed terms with Swansea although not signed a contract yet there isn't anything coming out that he's unhappy Brendan Rodgers has left the club.
