i predict an 7th place finish, behind... city, spurs, chelsea, arsenal, united, newcastle.. newcastle look waaaay better as a team than liverpool.

I don't believe it's going to be a slow process. Might take some games but should see results within the first ten games. I don't see it being a massive task for Rodgers he has enough talent to win. What he does with it is up to him.

This is the same team more or less - Torres that has finished 6,7,8 in the last 3 seasons.
To expect this team to be clicking after 10 games in my opinion is unrealistic.
Enough Talent to win?
Gerrard is getting old now.
Suaraz creates alot of chances for me he is not a natural finisher and can not see him get 25-30 goals on a regular basis.
You have a right to your opinion although I don't agree.
When you look at our rivals and what they can spend which ever way you look at it, it is a big task!
This is the same team last season had poor movement and most passes were square without any penetration.
How many players would get in the city team?
Agger?
Gerrard?
Suarez although they have teverez.
I think some fans need to be realistic, yes we will win games however don't expect us to be consistent after 10 games.
My personal expectation for the season are to see a attacking style developing and hopefully to get some youngsters in!

I'll take that bet , there's no way your going to be 5th or 6th there's just much better teams out there than Liverpool ,, Rodgers or not same it would be my opinion is they should have gave Dalglish another season but that's football ! Speak to you next May !

Would rather it read Agger signing a new deal, if the 20mill bid was true earlier in the summer that was made then we were silly not to accept it for Skrtel, i can't see anyone making that bid again for him. He's always got a mistake or two in him, yes he was probably our best player last season bar Suarez but we still finished 8th. Agger is more suited to Brendan's style then Skrtel who panics and only knows one way of playing and that's hoof it up the pitch. Anyway good luck Brendan hope he can sort him out...

Yes Skrtel is prone to the odd lapse of concentration, which defender is not?
No way can any Liverpool defender hoof the ball more than carragher!

You are correct in saying Agger fits into the system very well and is our link to midfield and attack.
However you need the correct balance and players that can compliment one another.
Skrtel overall is very good in the air and his tacking most of the time is solid.
His positional play overall is also good.

One weakness he does have and could never improve on is pace, in saying that all our central defenders lack pace.
When you play a high line and teams hit you on the break, with slow defenders this is costly, something Brendon will need to look at.
If he could improve his temperament and work on his passing, this would further enhance him, which I believe he can.
