Zee I don't agree It was one sided in my eyes i thought Khan lost by 5 maybe 6 rounds, I have watched the fight twice and i still now can't beleave how poor Khan was!! From the first time he got hurt you could just see all the life drain out of Khan, He was shocked by what was happerning in the ring and didn't know what to do. He should just take it on the chin!!!! Not keep going on with all this bulls*it, If he gets a re-match good luck to him, But i think he will look even more stupid when he gets knock the F*ck OUT!!

Ive seen the fight 6 times, it was a close fight, Amirs own fault for letting Lamont back in when he had him early on.
This won't die down until the date for the re-match is fixed

lloyd honeyghan versus johnny bumphus was a good one as well, the bell went for round two and lloyd ran across the ring and hit bumphus before they took his stool away, when interviewed afterwards and asked if he was a bit too quick off the mark he replied that he did not get paid overtime.brilliant quote from a brilliant boxer, khan should watch some of these and learn a little humilityComment

Amir Khan-Lamont Peterson: WBA confirms rematch, says promoter
A rematch between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson has been confirmed by the World Boxing Association, according to Khan's promoter.
Richard Schaefer says he has received a letter from the WBA notifying him of their "official decision that they are going to order an immediate rematch."
Khan lost his WBA and IBF titles to Peterson in December and has questioned a number of aspects of the fight.
But Peterson could relinquish the WBA title by opting not to have a rematch.
Schaefer, chief executive of Golden Boy Promotions, told ESPN: "I'm thrilled that he's getting [the rematch] and hope we can start the negotiations and get the fight done.
"Amir and Lamont are both terrific young men and athletes who fought their hearts out in Washington in December and I'm sure this decision will get applause by fight fans around the world.

If the WBA are [offering a rematch] then the IBF should do it as wellAsif Vali Amir Khan's business manager
"The rematch will be one of the most anticipated fights of 2012 because both guys are exciting, young and I think it's exactly the kind of fight people want to see."
Khan alleges that WBA official Michael Welsh suffered interference at ringside during the fight from 'mystery man' Mustafa Ameen.
A hearing has been scheduled in Newark, New Jersey, on 18 January, but the IBF does not know if Welsh will attend.
Asif Vali, Khan's business manager, remains convinced that no matter who attends the hearing the IBF should also order a rematch.
"We're not saying something happened, we're not saying something didn't happen" said Vali.
"Mustafa Ameen will explain himself at the hearing and it will be interesting to hear what he says.
"Ultimately, one organisation [the WBA] have ordered a rematch because they feel some irregularities have happened on the evidence of what we've supplied them.
"If the WBA are [offering a rematch] then the IBF should do it as well."
Khan's camp launched the appeal with the IBF in December principally on the grounds of "miscalculation of the scoring" and "inappropriate conduct by officials".
IBF APPEAL PANEL
- Jack Reiss (referee) of California
- Sam Viruet (referee) of New York
- Glenn Feldman (boxing judge) of Connecticut
Since then Khan has used his Twitter account and television interviews to allege interference with the scoring of the bout by Ameen.
After some initial confusion the IBF have confirmed that Ameen is neither employed by them nor an official but does participate in one of their "outreach" programmes.
They also admit they requested fight credentials for Ameen from the local boxing commission.
The IBF has also confirmed the identities of the panel that will hear the appeal to BBC Sport.
Jack Reiss of California, Sam Viruet of New York - who are both referees - and Glenn Feldman, a boxing judge from Connecticut, will conduct the hearing.
Feldman notably officiated in Khan's title fight against Paulie Malignaggi in New York's Madison Square Garden in May 2010 which Khan won after stopping his opponent in the 11th round.
The panel will have up to ten days to deliver judgement and, if they allow Peterson to keep the IBF belt, a rematch is less likely.
Khan's trainer, Freddie Roach, is on record as believing that the fight should be declared a no-contest and a rematch ordered.
Such a move would see Khan's world titles returned to him.

Good to hear the rematch is on and finally we can put this to bed, im sick of hearing about it. Amir Khan needs to shut up now hes got his rematch he now needs to focus on Lamont n not Mayweather, Bradley or whoever else and get the job done right this time.

Wasnt one of his best performances but i watch alot of boxing and still thought he won even with the points that were deducted that was a joke.
There was always going to be a rematch anyway and hopefully Khan can improve and put Peterson to bed.
Remember not all fighters put on their best fights you only have to look at Pac mans last fight.
Class will prevail.

Its ridiculous Khan getting support for his rematch, remember folks, Khan refused to give Paul McCloskey a rematch after his controversial stoppage due to a small cut, Khan can't have it both ways.'If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. Mccloskeys not in the same league as Lamont, besides Khan was all over him, it wasn't Khans fault the doc ruined the fight there was no dirty play in that fight even tho i was pissed off with the doc i dnt blame Khan for not giving him a rematch there was more money bigger crowds fighting back in America and more exposure then Mccloskeys gong to bring.

zee in the interest of fair play McCloskey should have had a rematch, I'm not sure what fight you were watching but McCloskey was looking the stronger of the two when the fight was stopped, and if you know anything about Paul you'd know he gets beter in the 2nd half of fights tactically he had the fight spot on, but he hadn't reckoned on a dodgy ref. I'm not saying he'd have beaten Khan, but he was robbed of the opportunity to do so, yet when it suits Khan to cry foul play, he uses eveery means at his disposal, the guy has no class and deserves little respect.
I sincerely hope Peterson takes his head off in the rematch, as he has shown himself to be a million levels above Khan in the class stakes.Last edited by skegsagypsy; 15 January, 2012, 20:33.'If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. I know Mcloskeys better in the 2nd half of the fights but it wasn't the ref who called it off, if you had watched it it was the doctor who rulled him unfit to carry on which the referee has to take notice of and call the fight off. The thing is it shouldn't have been called off as there was a fight a week before i think in the US where the boxer fought most of the fight with one eye closed.
Is Mcloskey a big bill fighter would he have made the amount of money Khan could have got from the US? The rematch if there was one given at the time probably would have made more then the 1st but nothing compared to the US.
Theres no such thing as fair play in boxing you win with dirty tactics these days, besides i never saw ppl saying Hopkins deserving a rematch after the Calzaghie fight.
Id like to see Kell Brook n Khan get it on tho, but i don't know if it will, theres alot of bad blood between the Hearns and the Khan camp following the Mcloskey fight.

Your right there is no such thing as Fair play in boxing, thats why Khan shouldn't be granted the rematch, oh well it's on now, heres hoping Peterson does the buisness and puts paid to Khans disrespectful attitude towards him and his camp.'If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.'
