Cuellar set for Villa switch

Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Rangers for Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar.

Cuellar has been linked with a move away from Ibrox since Rangers lost their UEFA Champions League qualifier against FBK Kaunas last week.

Walter Smith had been hoping to keep the 26-year-old but Villa have now made a bid of 10million euros (?7.8million) which triggered a release clause in his Rangers contract.

Villa are now set to hold talks with Cuellar On Tuesday and he will officially join the Premier League club if he passes a medical

Yes congratulations to rangers with a comfortable win in the circumstances , funny that before the game Lennon said that it was "just" another old firm game BUT after they were well beaten he blamed the referee and said it was " the most important game of the season" , Lennon - losing it or lost it that's the question ?

Excellent win for rangers yesterday if the players had shown that kind of passion in the last few weeks we would not have given celtic the opertunity to win on our ground. Wasnt it strange having a march old firm game that was meaningless in terms of the league??.

Where else can we post? Their little plan worked! I read the Celtic thread this am and their was defo some goading going on by some. But to be fair some tims took the bait. Things were brought up that shouldn't have been.

To be fair to john I was replying to him and although we support a different team he talks a lot of sense and sees the bigger picture.
