Deffo Liverpool fc first and last. I'm Scouse not English
THE TRUTH
The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12
Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.Comment

just from experience myself and friends get more up for a big european celtic or rangers game than we do for scotland, on top of that i think scotland historically has been more impacted by the old firm divide even going back to the 60's with jinky getting a hard time of a large parcentage of scotland fans probs because they wanted their player in the team ahead of him i also recall growing up Brian McClair getting a wee bit of a hard time and while i was young i was told it was in part due to him being an ex celt, where as i think football fans in england can put club issues to the side a bit more than in scotland,Comment

I'd opt for Country. Club teams have little loyalty from the players. They're a business and employ who the owners decide to buy. I don't get people hero worshipping some players, then the following year they bugger off and help their new team knock the old team out of competitions.Comment

I remember being in the celtic end at old hampden and Davie Cooper was booed at a Scotland game presumably by celtic orientated supporters but who knows but tbh i didn't decide i wanted to not go to another Scotland game because of that the sad thing for me was a Scotland player being booed by there own fans a bit like the Ian Black situation being booed by his own country's fans which i find rather pathetic and sad.just from experience myself and friends get more up for a big european celtic or rangers game than we do for scotland, on top of that i think scotland historically has been more impacted by the old firm divide even going back to the 60's with jinky getting a hard time of a large parcentage of scotland fans probs because they wanted their player in the team ahead of him i also recall growing up Brian McClair getting a wee bit of a hard time and while i was young i was told it was in part due to him being an ex celt, where as i think football fans in england can put club issues to the side a bit more than in scotland,

wasnt aware of cooper being boo'd but agree shame to boo great players like that representing your country was too young to really see cooper in his prime but even at motherwell looked a cracking player..I remember being in the celtic end at old hampden and Davie Cooper was booed at a Scotland game presumably by celtic orientated supporters but who knows but tbh i didn't decide i wanted to not go to another Scotland game because of that the sad thing for me was a Scotland player being booed by there own fans a bit like the Ian Black situation being booed by his own country's fans which i find rather pathetic and sad.
i agree 100% that players shouldnt be boo'd representing their country however disagree on black had written a large post on why i disagree whoever it would only decend into the usual crap so lets keep it on topic.Comment

Also it would be interesting to see the age of people that are contributing to your thread as well

If I was pushed i'd love to see Celtic winning the CL but it does annoy me watching the world cup & Euros when only England are there, it would be great too see all the home nations in these tourneys. I'm very patriotic too & will be supporting Scotland all the way. Regarding Cooper I met him years ago at a xmas party, he knew I was a tim but made no difference to him. Great guy he was & is still sadly missed.Comment

Thats football Snowy, Would you rather a ex teammate doesn't do his job right and say oh no I cant I used to play for them.
I would have no respect for them if a player done that.
If you dont get hero worshipping then whats the point in a kid growing up loving football.
Hero's come and go, such is the cycle of life. For as long as they give their all at the time then thats good enough for me.Comment

I used to put the same emphasis on league and international football but only when Scotland qualified for a big tournament did the extra fervour come into play.If I was pushed i'd love to see Celtic winning the CL but it does annoy me watching the world cup & Euros when only England are there, it would be great too see all the home nations in these tourneys. The passion of youth i spose
i was lucky to have been in an era where Scotland managed to qualify for things seems a distant memory now.
Now i wouldn't open my curtains to see Scotland.

It's not the doing his job bit I have a problem with. I've full respect for anyone that does his best. It's the one's that get the players tattoos, posters over the walls etc. By all means recognise someone for their skills but don't have their babies. That said there are plenty of players out there that just play for the money.
Loyalty is a two way street. If you grow up wanting to play for a team and reach that goal, stick it out until you're past it and move on. Don't jump ship for a bigger cheque book and expect to get respect. What would happen if every time a better team came along the fans started supporting them ?Comment

I seem to like both. League football is played different than International by way the game if refereed. You should ask what tournaments you like best. I like Champion league first Euro second and World cup third. I choose World cup third cause it is becoming too PC.Comment
