Its a changing game with a global audience, the Premiership is one of if not the best leagues in the world, it has huge investors stumping up millions in sponsorship and like it or not, racial abuse is a big no no.
Tbh it should be a big no no end of story, its 2012 not the 1970's, the terraces are full of families and kids who look up to Terry as a role model.
How could the FA let it go, a global sport with global brands and one of its star players shouting bl*** b******, Terry should know better and the best thing he could do is shut up, take it on the chin and be thankful he's in a job that pays him a bloody fortune.

As for the courts, well how many times have we saw crooks walk free in our lifetime, if you have tons of cash then you stand a much better chance of walking free.
The FA know this and they are not constrained by the same rules and regulations as the courts and they were never gonna let it go.
Its a bit like your work, you act like a di** you get fired, its very seldom the courts get involved and if they do its in the form of a tribunal which is very difficult to win.
Terry got was coming to him and hell mend him..
Let's be honest here, there is a world of difference between abuse and racial discrimination. Black is descriptive and not pejorative. To call someone a **** is an insult but ultimately inaccurate and meaningless. Some People when they are angry will go descriptive+insult, it's fairly standard. "You fat pleb" "You green eyed nonce". Do I have an ideological hatred of fat green eyed people? of course not. I just lost my temper.

If he had said a racist insult like nigger, that may have revealed something about JT's psyche. Calling someone a black whatsit doesn't.

Racism has been politicised to the point where it has become hysterical and meaningless. It has an infantalising effect on black people, as if they should be immune from base descriptive insults; it's harmful for all of us.

To truly be insulted by something must mean you must think that view has some validity. That being 'black' is objectively worse than being 'white'. Which is clearly nonsense. In a genetic sense 'race' doesn't exist. A white man and a sub-saharan bloke are the same. A human being.

Racial discrimination is a different ball game. Injustice should anger all of us. It objectively makes people's lives worse.

The idea that you can accurately describe someone while insulting them , and that could be a crime is utter bollocks. You remove the hysterical outrage from people to these racial insults, and they lose their all power. Human beings need to grow up.
