Paul Gasgoine was brilliant for Rangers, but the best i have ever seen has got to be Eric Cantona.

without wishing to sound rude i could be good for Rangers.. the SPL isnt really a benchmarker for talent..

Mark Hately and Mark Walters were also great Rangers players whilst they were below average in England..

My favorite player of all time is Ian Rush

Both played for England, therefore they were not below average players. Hately and Walters were fantastic for Rangers and should have done better in their careers, imo Walters was a late bloomer and played his best football near the end of his career. He still plays in the Masters 5 a side stuff, and if you watch him you'd say he is a great talent and not below avaerage.

As for the SPL not being the benchmark.....I never said it was, but then if the SPL got the money that the top leagues south of the border generated through TV, then i think the playing field would be a lot more level in terms of how the old firm would fair in Europe as they would be able to compete financially with the top premiereship teams......but thats not on the topic.

I will vote for Pele, football?s greatest icon. He has an extraordinary playing career. He played in four world cup and was a winner thrice.
