    I'd have no problem with a goal-linesman.. but video ref?? no way.. It would ruin the game imo.

      fulham v roma.the ref showed brede hangeland the red cardthen the fulham players got around him told him that he was not the player involved in the penalty the assistant referee just yards away could not tell him witch player it was .he then changes his mind and sends off the player that was involved.the new assistant refs f..ked up

        It was the ref that ~~~~ed up, it was he who red carded the wrong player, Ok, maybe the goalline assistant (or whatever his name is) should have seen that the Ref was making a mistake and called him on it,
        or should the Ref have approached the assistant before he red-carding the wrong player!!

        As in any rule changes, no matter how small, there is going to be teething problems, Better that, than stopping the game for 3 minutes so that a decision can be finalized on video just to pacify a baying mob of players.

        Leo m8 i see you are from Dublin? surely you are familiar with the role of Umpires in Gaa Hurling and Football matches??
        They are there as extra "eyes" at the goal line, thats all, no more, the Ref can approach the Umpires if he wishes for clarification of a decision he is about to make, but when all is said and done the refs decision is final.
        It's very similar experiment thats happening now in the Europa league games.
