Im a utd man and i think it is wrong what he did and i wouldnt complain if he did get a ban i watched it with my kids and as soon as he said it i said to my eldest why the ~~~~ has he just done that he will get a ban now the big daft fat cnut

not sure whether he will get a ban because it is not dissent to the ref so i am unsure if they have the power to do it but in my eyes i think he probably does deserve it but thats just my opinion id have sold him anyway when him and his agent were trying to screw us for more money

ferguson got a 5 game ban for suggesting the ref wasnt very good which in reality is an opinion all managers are asked for their opinion after each game and when the give it it is classed as being wrong. They are held responsible for their comments whilst rooney wasnt directing it at the ref it was directed worsely IMO to everyone at home showing what he is classless

Come of it your been ott with that quote i'd expect that to be said on another thread not this one wanting one of our players to get a ban for swearing live on tv. Is he the frist sports person to swear live on tv. I watched the game wit my sons and grandsons and at the end of the day it was the result that counted not about rooney swearing.

i stand by what i said i think he deserves a ban if it was gerrard or john terry im pretty sure we would have a slightly different view drogba got 5 games for a similar incident i dont remember any of us saying he shouldnt be punished

i know rooney wasnt directing it at the ref but he was directing it directly to the camera in a live game thus aiming it to everyone at home

he has launched many torrents of abuse at refs had many kicks at players and the odd elbow and has got away with a lot more than he has been pulled up for i have lost count of the times i have been screaming for him too shut up before we go to 10 men he has been a lucky boy (to coin andy gray) more than most

and the fact of the matter is that if you send wayne rooney off you create a media circus for a week or so which tends to put referees off doing just that but its not just him there are others too mainly england internationals gerrard terry scholes who all get away with more than the average joe just because of their reputation and the media frenzy it creates

he might have been letting of steam so what he should be made accountable for his actions he went to the camera it never just picked him up he stuck his head to it and targeted the camera whether you agree with the ban or not what he did was wrong and just beacuse some kids mam shouts abuse at refs on a sunday morning doesnt make that right either most of that comes from the professional game

some ex pro's including jamie redknapp of which i agree think swearing at the ref should be instant red they would soon stop and then there would be no grey areas they all know the rules there is no excuse

people say you cant help it its the pressure what a load of 5hite that is the biggest pile of crap i have heard it has nothing to do with pressure it is just habit plain and simple they have done it for too long.

Not a Man Utd supporter but am a fan of them and I agree with you thered. There is no need for it, he is a class player but gets away with a lot on the field and sometimes when walking off it (England game springs to mind) it does make you question his mentality at times shame he cant take a leaf out of Giggs' book.

Yeah he's a thicko no doubt, and a ~~~~in idiot, and we should have probably got shot of him when we had a chance, but i just cant be convinced that this ban is justified, where do you draw the line??

Well done United! What magnificent move and assistance from Giggs! in his age he can still hold classes of football for so called stars. It still not the end though. I am sure that SAF is aware of it.

By the way have you seen how big clumsy Peter "Rodney from Pecham" Crouch swerved the ref with "~~~~ off" when he got that second yellow in Real Madrid game? Will he get extra ban for it? NO.

I don't like what has Rooney done but in football it is all in affect. Rooney apologized later, Crouch did not.
