Barca played well we were very poor

i thought they looked pretty nervy early on they made mistakes and we defended from the front closing down quickly we were looking ok

but as the game went on we went further and further back when they got the ball around the halfway we were letting xavi walk with it 20 yards while we back peddled to 2 lines of 4 on 18 yard line plus rooney

we had no outball and played the game with valencia and fabio both at right back

we had no movement and no speed to our play and our passing was awful

we were to afraid and sat too deep to make a game of it you cant let barca play high up the pitch and just invite them to have possesion unchallenged until around 30 yards you get murdered which is what we did

our back line should have been at least 10 yards forward and squeezed them higher up the pitch

yes they are a great side but we showed too much respect and made it easy for them i think we concentrated too much on trying to defend which is ok if you have an outlet and can get quick support

without it you dont get the ball it just comes back

you must have watched a different game Wolfy.. Utd weren't that poor, Barca were just that good.. When you chase around after the ball for 80 minutes it must demoralise you more than anything else..

Say what you want but Rooney's finish was spot on.. Apart from that Barca made Utd look like schoolboys..

I've never seen a more impressive display of possession and 'attack at will and choice' football in my life..

No team on EARTH would have dealt with that Barca side last night..

The fact it was Utd makes it all the sweeter.. but to say Utd defended like schoolboys is wrong..

When you play against a team like that they end up being the equivalent of a boxer just punching his opponent for fun..

Utd were punch drunk..

Thats a sign of how good Barca are.. Not a sign of how bad Utd were..

Wolfpack, you never, ever give Barca, the Spanish league and most of all...Messi any credit at all mate. He is a very special player and Barca are a very special team.

As mentioned in the build up on ss1. You cant defend a player like messi you have to just make sure when he gets the ball 2 players are round him. The space he makes for himself is amazing.

I think man U done the best they could but barca when they want to win they will always. Look what happened to arsenal when they thought they were in with a chance

It's no so much that Man Utd lost...It's the manner of the defeat. Completely outclassed, outplayed, made to look like a sunday league team...

TalkSport this morning said...Xavi and Iniesta between them made more passes in the match than the entire man utd team...Barcelona 16 attempts on goal...12 on target. Man utd...3 attempts 1 on target...

Man Utd commited 3 times as many fouls and only had 31% possession...Valencia was lucky to still be on the pitch should have been booked a lot earlier..Even the Rooney goal, should have been disallowed for Giggs being offside...

In truth the scoreline flatters united..they were lucky it was only 3...could have easily been 5 or 6.
