      Never a truer word spoken..

Patrice Evra says he is 'not surprised' that Manchester United eventually proved to be the best team in the Premier League.
United are on the brink of clinching a record-breaking 19th title following last week's 2-1 home win over nearest rivals Chelsea.
A point away at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday will be enough to secure a 12th Premier League crown for manager Sir Alex Ferguson following a stuttering start to the season.
Though United have regularly been criticised for their form and performances this season, Evra repeatedly countered by telling the Red Devils' snipers to wait before delivering their judgements.
"I remember saying you had to pay the musician at the end of the show," the French full-back told MUTV.
"I believed in that. I wasn't just saying it to look good in the newspapers. I said that because I believed it.
"I was convinced that no team was better than us this season. Now, that's the result - if we go to Blackburn and win (or draw), we will be champions.
"I am not surprised because I always believed we were the best."

          Great Article Jamie Redknapp, LUHG

I think it's unfair of anyone to say this Manchester United side are not as good as their predecessors.
They may not have the flamboyance of previous Sir Alex Ferguson sides and they might not have a Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, but what they are is a team. A real team, a proper team.
They have so much quality in all areas of the pitch that maybe no-one stands out, not even Wayne Rooney. They have great options out wide, they have forwards who score goals, so many options in central midfield, a brilliant goalkeeper and a defence that is as good as I have seen at Old Trafford.

United: might lack flamboyance but are a true team, says Jamie
I have played against some of the best United defenders there have been, like Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister and Jaap Stam and Ronnie Johnsen and I can say that Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are the best central defensive partnership United have ever had.
And in Edwin van der Sar, they not only have a world-class goalkeeper, but an 11th outfield player. His mind is so sharp, his distrubition so good that as soon as the ball is at his feet, they are off on the attack.
I would say they are less of a team when Dimitar Berbatov plays, but at the end of the day he is the Premier League's leading scorer - which shows you just how strong they are.

I still think they need a couple more players to compete with the challenges that are coming their way next season, but it is hard to look through that entire Manchester United side and find someone that hasn't contributed at some stage of this season.
When Berbatov hasn't been playing, young Javier Hernandez has come in and been a revelation. His partnership with Rooney is developing into something frightening and I am not even sure Sir Alex expected him to have the same impact.
At the other end of the scale you have Paul Scholes in what will probably be his last ever season and Ryan Giggs. It's hard to think of something new to say about Giggs, but the fact he can - like so many of the United midfielders - play out wide, or come into the middle and still do a fantastic job, speaks volumes.
He will go down as one of the all-time greats, not just at Old Trafford, or in the Premier League, but in our game full-stop.
          Determination

The fact that he and Scholes and until recently Gary Neville, are still there means the young players like Nani, like Hernandez, like Fabio and Rafael, know what playing for Manchester United is all about. As soon as they walk in the door at the training ground, they know what it means to be a United player.
The manager also has to take great credit in that. He instils such fight and determination in all his players that down the years, they have just never known when they are beaten. They are the only team I know you can be 1-0 up against with two minutes left and end up losing 2-1 - and not really be surprised.
Time and time again they do that and also, as we have seen this season and as we saw against Chelsea last Sunday, whenever there is a threat, whenever we think they are in trouble, they just seem to snuff it out and we're all left sitting there wondering what we were worried about.
They have only lost back-to-back games once this season, against Chelsea and Liverpool. But then, just when we all thought they were in crisis, they go and beat Arsenal next. That is what Sir Alex Ferguson's side do.

          Challenging

I have been in Liverpool sides that have chased them down the years and at times, been neck and neck. Yet they always seem to pull it out of the bag when it matters. It's like they have another gear to move into when the pressure is really on. It is so demoralising trying to catch them because just when you think you've got them, they get out of reach again and all of a sudden it's over, they've won the title!
The record of 19 league titles shows just how dominant they have been in the Premier League era.

                          Sir Alex Ferguson in 1988

"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."
