Welbeck and agents this is really pi*sing me off now our young players wanting more and more money, WTF is going on!! these agents same with Ravel Morrison and Pogba!!

Manchester United have been angered by Danny Welbeck***8217;s wage demands, so talks over a long-term contract are now in deadlock.
Welbeck, 21, has emerged as an important member of Sir Alex Ferguson***8217;s plans, scoring eight goals for the Barclays Premier League champions this season.
United are keen to reward the England striker, who earns ?15,000 per week, with a new deal. Sportsmail exclusively revealed last year how Welbeck had begun negotiating with the club over a treble-your-money contract worth ?45,000-?50,000 a week.

But the player and his advisers are now asking for ?60,000 a week, which has left United officials astonished.
United want to put Welbeck on a similar wage package to the club***8217;s other young talents. Defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling both earn ?50,000 per week, while Tom Cleverley is on ?40,000 per week.
United feel Welbeck***8217;s ?60,000-a-week demands are unrealistic as he has not proved himself on a consistent basis yet.

However, it is thought the player***8217;s camp believe he could command even more if the young forward continues his good form to enjoy a successful climax to the domestic season and then makes an impact for England at Euro 2012.
In contrast, United feel Welbeck is being ill-advised and, as a result, contract talks have hit an impasse.
Welbeck will enter the final 12 months of his current deal in the summer.
This pay dispute is not the first time Welbeck***8217;s demands have caused problems.

In the light of the contract snag at United, Sportsmail has learned that Sunderland nearly pulled the plug on their deal to take Welbeck on loan at the start of last season, due to his camp***8217;s negotiating tactics.
In addition to his ?15,000-per-week salary, Welbeck also asked for a number of separate bonuses to be paid, which left Sunderland officials furious.
And chairman Niall Quinn came close to turning his back on the loan agreement before a compromise was finally reached.

To be fair since posting this i have been sat thinking about it, And i can sort of get where he is coming from!! Take Berba hes getting paid 100k a week to either sit on the bench or sit at home!! we could of sold him in the summer for 15m and also that would of free up 100k a week welbeck is a great young talent and we need to keep him, I do agree about the Rooney thing, and i know for defo he had all the contracts wrote up at shity and he was defo on his way to them, if it wasn't for a few thing thats where he would be now!! at the time i was saying let the greedy c**t go, But i do think he is a world class player and we need them players at united, But like i have said before there only a few loyal players left in football!! Giggs, Gerrard, carragher and Paul scholes

He'll get the contract he deserves, the club has never been stingy when it comes to rewarding players who deserves it regardless of their contract situation. Remember Rio even Keane done the same in the past holding the club hostage to get their demands done, Rooney has opened the door for all agents to do the same.

"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."

Obvious Danny deserves a better contract now he is making regular first team appearances. As said by Andy the club will take steps to show a player his value and I think Wellbeck should come in line with Smalling and Jonesy my gut feeling here is the club will make a good offer and it will be accepted.
This of course could be just paper talk if anyone remembers the similar situation with Chico and that turning out to be bull shite.

Can I ask if there is a blanket ban on posting anything that is taking the piss out of Liverpool FC and its Suarez/Downing debacle as I have had a post or two deleted that are really rather funny if you are a rival. I was wanting to share in the Utd thread with other fans some banter to send for emails and the such.
Anyhow if it is ok I can PM the jpg to anyone wanting a chuckle at the Liverbirds expensive just send me a private.

It causes flame wars which we have to moderate. We also said why we were moderating the football threads as we have done on many occasions. It is only one page back were we done so for the last and final time.

This is a digital forum, not a sports one, the football threads tend to be the main area where we have to moderate the threads. As said we can close them never mind just deleting posts.

All we ask is each member respects the other and the guise of banter within the football threads are not what we view as such.

So if a post goes missing where do you think it has gone? It has been moderated and if you or anyone else in any thread has a problem with that please contact one of us via pm rather than questioning moderation on the forum, this is one thing which will not be tolerated.

Please keep the thread on topic.

Bayer Leverkusen insists they know nothing of speculation linking them with a move for former star Dimitar Berbatov.

The Bulgarian was widely reported to have flown to Germany earlier this week, which led to speculation linking him with Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.

Now Leverkusen, who sold Berbatov to Tottenham in July 2006, have confirmed that they have no interest in bringing the striker back to the BayArena.

"I have been reading that Dimitar (Berbatov) would have flown over to Frankfurt and that we would be in for him there to negotiate a transfer. That was interesting news to me," Bayer Leverkusen executive Wolfgang Holzhauser told Express.

"I am clearly out to never say never, but this is nothing we are looking forward to at this point in time.

"And from today's point of view I would also say we are not after him in the coming summer."

Speaking to the Russian media, his agent Emil Danchev also insisted that a move was not on the cards, after Anzhi Makhachkala and CSKA Moscow were also linked.

"Usually I don't comment on speculation from the press. They can say whatever they want," Danchev told Sovetski Sport.

"But the only thing that I can say is that at this moment the eventual transfer of Berbatov to another club is not on the agenda."
Looks like we are stuck with him until the summer

I quite like Dimi and i had hoped he would kick on from last seasons golden boot but he has struggled for games with Danny and Chico around. I do not think we have seen his best and he seems to struggle under the spotlight at OT, some players just wilt under the weight of pressure and perhaps berba is this type. We have had some magical moments from him none more so than last years hatrick but I am coming to agree that maybe it is time to cut our losses with him. SAF I think it was described him as a luxury player (our last one of those was Veron) i feel we simply cannot afford these luxury players today both financially and competitively.
