England boss Fabio Capello has performed an astonishing U-turn after telling David Beckham he will consider the LA Galaxy midfielder for selection if he is fully fit. "First Beckham has to be playing again but the door is always open," said Capello, who earlier this month had called time on the former Manchester United man's international career.

I have huge respect for Beckham as a player and as a football servant, but i honestly cant understand the furore about his imposed retirement, yes Cappelo ~~~~ed up by not informing him personally before he informed the media, but in true Beckham style he turns it into a circus, only 2 months ago the whole English nation was up in arms about how poor and overrated the English primadonna players were at the World cup, and how ye needed young blood who were proud to wear the English shirt.. and now theres uproar cos a 35 yr old had been put out to pasture by his manager, when was the last time Beckham had a good game for club or country??, yes hes still capable of putting in a pin point cross.. but thats about it. (running about putting in an effort doesnt count) If Beckham does (and it looks like he now could) get another cap then its a step back in not a step forward... for christ sake get over it!!!
Ps... please spare me the "if some of the players had beckhams desire etc etc"
