As for bidding countries like Russia knowing they have got certain votes - countries do deals with other countries to get there votes, as well as lobbying. This has happened for a long time and was one reason why Eng got Euro 96 (like I mentioned on the other thread re this subject).
so you disagree that england should have staged the 96 competition? regardless of bribery, corruption etc, surely these things should be based on stadia, transport, security etc...
have quatar got any major stadia? ok 2022 is a long way of, but we cant base these decisions on promises...

Everything you do in life is about money. Look at South Africa they built one stadium that was only going to be used for 4 matches. some fifa official must own a company that builds stadiums why else would they choose Russia and the Qatar. FIFA is corrupt. FIFA will see that matches won't be sold out and they will have to give tickets away like in South Africa.

Mexico shouldn't have got two cups in 16 years, the USA should not have got the world cup, South Korea/Japan shouldn't have got it, Should South Africa have got it?...and while we are at it Henry's goal shouldn't have stood!

We all know FIFA, like UEFA, like the ICC, like the IOC was (and maybe still is?), like the FA, like the SFA and most other countries associations is currupt. But there aint no conspiracy here against England. The FA made too many enemies with other associations over the recent years and that's why England didn't get the bid. The FA knows this and that's why they are bleating about the voting system (which was fine for Euro 96) to cover up there mistakes.

Put pressure on FIFA for more transparency - fine, but the FA needs to address it's own organisation first then other countries may back the FA in taking the fight to FIFA.

I see that English PR guro Mike Lee who sucessfully worked on London 2012 & Brazil 2016 Olympic bids, as well as Qatar 2022 world cup bid has slated the FA and there appointment of Lord Triesman who I quote was "Terribly unpopular in international football." Mike Lee also said;-

"This England bid campaign was not Premier League, it was relegation and League One,"

"I'm not sure it is healthy to blame everyone else, and not reflect on the campaign itself,"

"A lot was made at the beginning of how it was not going to repeat the mistakes of 2006 but it actually repeated many of those mistakes and even ended up with three fewer votes, and only half as many as Holland and Belgium."

Well, well maybe not all down to the BBC, currupt FIFA and those nasty Russians..
