The best way to unlock an iphone is to contact your service provider o2,vodaphone or whatever and pay them to unlock it. It only costs about 20-30 quid and if you are pay as you go they will take it off your balance and text you back when its unlocked. Doing it this way is better as the phone is now unlocked for life no matter what firmware is on the thing and no pussyfooting about trying to preserve basebands etc..
