unable to upgrade to ios 5

ive deleted the apple entrys but still keep getting error 21 when trying to update,ive tried all the suggested alternatives but cannot update
im stuck help me pls

You need administrator rights to make changes in host files....

Easy way would be to run tinyumbrella>Advanced tab>uncheck Set host to Cydia on exit.>close tinyumbrella.

You should be able to do a clean install..

my jailbreak went ok,cydia installed etc,started loading up various essential tweaks,then loaded app sync 5 phone rebooted now i dont have cydia ,,,anyone know why ? cant find it anywhere
ive got no settings tab either

tried to re break but redsnow kept failing,after 2 times phone booted up and everything was there again,very strange,,now whilst trying to install a tweak,upon rebooting im now stuck with the apple logo on the screen and cant do a thing
what state is the phone in now when you have the apple logo stuck on the screen ?

tried that but no flash,logo goes off then back on again,tried to rebreak but redsnow recognises a device in dfu,it then shows i tunes and a cable logo,then i try with tiny umbrella again and fix recovery mode is available but dosent work,gonna keep trying for a bit

use ifaith to save blobs for 5.0.1 and create a custom ipsw with the same tool. place in dfu, then connect to itunes and when you press restore, hold shift to locate your custom ipsw for restoring 5.0.1 then apply jb with redsn0w 0.9.10.

quick update,,plugged into i tunes and it recognised dfu,so did a full restore to ios 5 again then re broke wth redsnow,working fine at the moment,,i saved my shsh tonight using i faith then tried to build a custom ipsw,it went all the way and then at the end after looking like all was well i got an error saying the ipsw was not correct or something along those lines,i let ifaith find the ipsw so not sure whats wrong there

Why are you building a custom IPSW...? if your jailbroken...?

When using the latest iFaith...and you want to create a custom firmware I would use Sn0wbreeze...as both are made by the same guy... iH8sn0w

No mate...you can still download any firmware for any iDevice any time....the problem is installing the firmware if it's NOT being signed by Apple.... That's why we save our SHSH blobs to fool iTunes into thinking firmware being installed is current(but in reality it's not)
