Ok just done my phone brand new 3gs 3.1.3 worked flawlessly, now what though as I haven't a clue , does this men I cn download apps free and if so where from....sorry if its a daft question.

just torrent them...... easier to get ones that are .ipa files, I am new to this myself and have downloaded ones that come in a payload folder but not worked them out yet. Also when you jailbroke it - open cydia and search for "Appsync" and install it. This allows you to install cracked apps in itunes. Simply drag the .ipa file into itunes and sync your device. Voila!!

Requirements
Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2.
An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
Any version of iTunes 9 (including 9.1.1).
Syncing with iTunes before trying this highly recommended.

One other thing guys....... spirit will remove photos when you use it so back these up before you jailbreak it

run in windows 95 compatible mode

should see cydia app on phone when done

and all my apps still intact

click edit at the top

sorry of topic but payload folder is an ipa file that windows dosnt see correcty
you need to goto control panel
select folder options
uncheck hide extensions for know file types
then right click rename then delete the .zip at the end of the name
then windows should see it as an .ipa

• Update (May 3): I've updated the jailbreak tool. It no longer deletes photos (sorry!) and should resolve the issue with error code c0000005. (If you still get that error with the new version, try setting compatibility mode to Windows 95.)
