Just to clear this up. If reported to Orange as lost/stolen the blacklisting is immediate, within 10 mins, for both the SIM & handset.

The blacklist data is shared with all UK networks...but this can take 3 months to be picked up.
The network that applied the blacklisting is the only one that can remove it.

But any network can blacklist a UK phone, no matter where it came from. As long as the IMEI is shown as being used with the account holders SIM it can be blocked if reported as lost/stolen. It cannot be blocked for non payment of a contract, if it's not the original handset or direct replacement. Or, if it does not show as being used with the account holders SIM.

Getting back to the thread.... The phone is working with an Orange SIM, so it is not blacklisted & won't be in the future as enough time has passed for the owner to report it.

Billy2, limera1n can only jailbreak the phone. To unlock to any network you have to jailbreak then ultrasn0w with an ipad baseband 6.15 as many have advised already.

Yes I agree that imei blacklisting is immediate, it can take other networks up to 3 months to blacklist also.
Not sure what your on about when you mention code? Do you mean itunes error codes? Then this is normal and can be booted by Tinyumbrella / ireb etc.
It was impossible to unlock the OP baseband with the details he supplied, thats how I could tell.

Billy2, what do you want to happen to your phone, do you want to keep it for yourself orange (ir) or do you want to unlock to any network and then sell it? I have done six maybe seven iphones to the 6.15 baseband and the only notable effect is loss of gps which is almost definate, battery drain is due to hacktivating phone and not inserting original sim card via itunes, wifi problems I have never encountered from jailbreaking. I have a couple of phones pre/post whatever, that have wifi issues that is down to bad solder joints from factory. There is info to be found in google on that subject as well.
