    ok m8

    1. format your sd card using the panasonic formatting tool.

    2. download your firmware from here

    3. extract the files, then open folder and copy the various files and folders to the root of your sd card...

hopefully, that will be you sorted..

Followed your instructions to the letter (on both the 16Gb and 2Gb SD cards) - to no avail.

Ah well, at least we tried.
Many, many thanks for your assistance folks - much appreciated.
I'll just have to kick his ass on FIFA on the XboX to keep him quiet 'til his new card arries.

              Thanks again.

you say normal game and r4i card show up.in dsi,so its the micro sd end thats problem,or r4i card itself, you have also tried a 2gb micro sd,try looking in r4i card micro sd slot, and check for bent pin.might need a torch.got to check every option.

                  buy an acekard,

you will get one for less that 20quid which will play all your "backups"..

Looked at pics. You need to check the fw on the ds. Thats not a error ive seen from a r4 card

It sounds like either devices fw updated to an unsupported version or ds fw has become corrupted

Can you advise where's the best place to order one from barrowmanandrew?

What's the difference between R4i and acecard? I take it I can just copy all the games and save files onto the acecard?

Cheers again for all your help and advice folks. Glad I stumbled across this site.

                          Good morning folks,

So, took it upon myself to update the DSi's firmmware this morning.

The DSi is now running version 1.4.4E but it has had no effect on the card's operation; still getting the black screen and 'An error has occurred...' message.

Looks like the card may be Kaput.

Can you advise what my replacement options are?

                          Cheers.

you will have buy a replacement card which can run on 1.4.4 dsi's.

there are a wide range of cards to choose from.

                              but..
you will have to make sure whichever card you but is already updated for 1.4.4

you see newer cards are updatable,so allthough the card can be advertised as 1.4.4 compatable , that doesnt necessarily mean that the card will work straight out the box.
card might need updated yto work on latest dsi firmware, but you cannot use your dsi to this now because you have updated it already to 1.4.4

also with acekard, if you go onto thier official site (acekard.com) they have a page with a list of trusted reseller, so you dont get ripped off with a clone.
