Another r4i problem, any help please

My daughter has had a R4i card (R4i/R4 Ultra, R4 Revolution For DS DSL DSi - R4i/R4 Ultra Official Website) for over 12 months without any problems. Guess what, 2 days into a week holiday in Turkey it went t**s up "an error has occured press & hold power button and turn the system off please refer to the DSi operations manuals for details"
    the firmware version is 1.2E

Can anyone help me to get it up & running again (in easy steps as I am not brilliant at this stuff.

Not sure what you mean by "updated the card"

If I format the card, what do I have to download to getting it it to work again?

sorry m8, i meant update the dsi.
what to do is copy the entire contents of your card to laptop,
then formatcard and copy files back.
have you tried putting date back?

                  Definately Ver 1.2E

I have formatted the micro sd card & downloaded latest software form the site, still not working, just wondering if I need older software for the Ver 1.2E ???

                        What is adb
that should read " download and re-install your firmware" (wireless keyboard)

the hard bit is getting correct firmware for your card...
all r4 firmwares can be found here

                          How do I know if I need 1.51 / 1.52 / 1.53 / 1.54 or 1.55

I am losing the will to live with this, it seems so complicated.

it is complicated m8, this is why i dont use r4 cards.....

the situation is, you could have either:
                            1. a faulty dsi (do you have a proper game to test?) doubt it though
                            2. a faulty flashcard (possibilty.....)
                            3. a faulty sdcard or sd card in need of formatting (i take it you have formatted card fat 32, not a quick format, but a full format) (the most likley cause of your problem)
                            4. corrupt firmware. (best to reinstal first to rule out)

out of the firmware you have mentioned , best to use 1.55 this is the latest, the next update will be 1.56 then 1.57 etc...

what to do is back up your card, then delete system files.
download the firmware you think is for your card, unzip and copy files and folders files to root of sd card.
then add one game and see if that works

Gone to the original site, they have instructions on it, it says about copying a file called "DS MENU.INI" I cannot find this & have now given up for tonite, thanks for all tour help & patience, will try again tomorrow, cheers. Was also doing quick format, so now doing that again, proper games are still working.
