R4-IIIUpgrade (Revolution for DS NDSL/NDS)

i have this r4 card and have for years. i have one of the older kernels (v1.18 i believe) but i couldnt get some of the new games to work. i tried to the new woods (v1.37) and now it just makes it to the loading screen and freezes. i went back and reformatted but it made no difference... what am i doing wrong?

its really trial and error with these old r4 cards.

that one looks like the cards that are more likely to work...
