R4 loads blank screen on newer games?!?

then the woods firmware wont work on it,

woods is for original r4 cards, if you it says sdhc on it, then it is a clone.....
do you know which firmware your using now?

on the original firmware that came it just says v1.33, sorry about this I really don't have a clue about ds's.

try this one.
R4SDHC.rar

1. backup then format your sd card.

2. download the firmware

3. extract the files

4. open the sdhc folder then copy the various files / folders to root of your sd card

5. add a couple of games.

make sure you dont put anything into folders..
the files on your sd card should look like this...

files damaged

I think there may be some file damage in the TF card. You can format the TF card and install the wood r4 kernel for try.

clone r4 can't work with wood r4 kernel,i recommend you get a r4 sdhc or acekard 2

hi all, first post but was recommended this website for all things DS related, so i hope you can help.

My daughter acquired a R4i card from a family member, but i have found some of the newer games do not run (black/blank screen once you select it from the menu). I assumed it was a firmware issue or maybe the newer games have some sort of process that does not allow them to run on these cards, but some other games work fine. Not sure what the problem is here, so i thought i would ask.

the card itself says R4i and has the website www.r4ids.com printed on it. Not sure if this equates to a "Gold" card (all text is gold in color) or simply just an "R4i" card. Most of the games she already has on it work.

I've had a look at the posts and i've seen several mentions about this Woods firmware/software, but i'm just not 100% what i should do.

Any suggestions would be grateful, and would make a wee girl rather happy!

Also, as it stands, the R4i card has the software on it from the r4ids.com website. think its version 1.32, but still no joy.

Is the Woods firmware/software a variant or alternative to the software already loaded?

Have you formatted the card with a decent formatting tool then went back for the newest software or kernel if not do this as a next step using the sd formatter find it on google it's never let me down not forgetting to store your files elsewhere before formatting this may get you back on track let us know how you get on
