    playing dvd on wii

    hi guys is there a way to play dvds on a modded wii
    my sons tv only has 1 scart so is a pain in the arse to sort out every 2 mins kids ehh

    Mplayer ce you will find it in the downloads section m8 it will also let you stream avi movies direct from pc wirelessly assuming you have wireless router
    TRY DROPBOX 2GB + 500mb FREE ONLINE STORAGE with public sharing and 500mb for me

      ive put the mplayer and wiimc player on now,

      love the streaming capability, no ~~~~in about with disks..

      theres a thread on it.....

        loaded the 3 files installed them in homebrew but when i click on mplayer it says mounting dvd and nothing happens any ideas guys

          Just tried a dvd on my mplayer and get the same result I'll have a look about and see if I can come up with a solution. I never use discs just stream straight from the pc

            Ok just installed latest version of mplayer ce and installed cios 202 with base 60 but still no joy mounting dvd best thing to do is wait and see what ck comes up with but one thing you didn't tell us is how old is your wii cause I did find out newer wii's will not play dvd's ever no matter what you do but I haven't found out how new mines is pretty old

              i kept getting dsi exception errors with mplayer, but this works really well....

                Could be wrong here lads, but to the best of my knowledge, for the Wii to read dvds ( movies ) on older Wii's, you needed to have DVDX installed, this allows the Wii to read them, unless it's changed as it's a while since I've softmodded my Wii. If your 4.1 or lower, I think you can just get a DVDX installer to put it on your Wii, or think you can run the hackmii again and install only DVDX, but I don't think it can be used past 4.1.

                  i duno m8, my wii is 4.3 and it does play movies from dvd.

                  ~~~~ knows what ive got installed in it though

                    MPlayerCe plays movies for ya ?. Well I did say I could be wrong

                    mine plays them no problem, I'm 4.1e with dvdx installed

                        right ,
                        mplayer plays dvds but wiimc doesnt.

                        i get the sound on wiimc but just coloured blocks instead of a picture.

                        ive got subtitles up on mplayer and dont know how to switch them off

                        think i'll stick yo streaming
