Play Zelda for a min or so just so you have a save file, then insert the SD card with the twilight hack/ home brew channel etc.
Now go into the settings, delete the Zelda save file, then go into the SD card menu on the Wii, copy over the PAL hack, now go back and play Zelda, this time when it loads up, you'll see the Twilight hack, click on it, let it load up, once you are into the game walk backwards, this will start the homebrew channel install.

You'll be using the wrong wad manager installer for the second wad, use
Custom WM then use the + to install it, thats all your doing wrong m8.

Dont know m8, as long as a homebrew channel is installed so you can softmod your wii i wouldnt worry about it yet, in the homebrew channel are you pressing the little icon of the world to update it using wifi ?

Shouldnt take that long, dowgrading the firmware takes the longest, then install shop takes second longest.
Is your Wii properly setup for wifi m8 ?
Try another channel on your wireless router if your finding it runs very very slow.
