Wii Softmod Tutorial for noobs like me

theres no advantage in updating firmware, but its worth updating your cios with this Digital Kaos - Downloads - cios38 rev17 and updating your loader which ever one you use

I am noob, and was only able to softmod my wii due to this noob proof step by step guide here. I searched a lot when wanted to softmod my wii, but was not able to understand half of these jargons in other tutorials. Thanks to this one, I finally was able to do so. I am sorry if I sound like noob, as I am one, but need to ask you:
- what will this cios change? As my HBC has already updated itself.
- Also, how do I update my loader? not sure which one I use, as the channel name is backup launcher. How to find out which one I used? well, it must be the one given in this tutiorial. I have not updated anything, including the internet channel since my softmod, so don't know what all I should update, like there are new updates (i think old now) for loading games from usb HDD etc.

Also, thanks a lot for such a prompt reply, this boost my confidence that someone is out there to help me, incase i don't do it right.

Updating from softmod 3.4 to latest

I just tried running backup of Batman The Brave and Bold, as well as Sports Island 3, using Backup Manager, but got error 002. This is the first time I got such error, and it may indicate that now my 3.2 wii is not capable of running new games.

i dont use backupmanager my self but isnt there a 002 fix in the setting?
if not try running neogamma http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-final-104295/ that definatly has 002 fix

Be warned ModMii.exe has a Trojan.Downloader in so scan it with Malwarebytes before you run anything, it did in my download of here.

I've made a comment in the download section but it hasn't shown?

I saw that too keith but was not sure if it picked it up as a problem because of the type of app it is.. like a keygen .. i dont know.. i take it it still works once the you run the malwarebytes.. my avg keeps picking it up by i ignore it.

this tut goes back to 2008 so is well out of date use Digital Kaos - Downloads - 4.3b safe firmware updater instead.
