Don't see why not a forwarder is only a launcher that points at the main program. I have only ever seen autoboot to a loader or the main system but I can't see a problem autobooting to say a gamecube launcher if that uses a forwarder. I'm not sure how you set up your wiiflow autoboot but generally you just put a .dol forwarder file on the sd then select autoboot from file in priiloader an click the file you wish to boot from

try this forwarder WiiMC - WIMC.wad
In this order (if the 1st isn't there it looks for the 2nd than 3rd...):
        SD:/apps/wiimc/boot.dol
        SD:/apps/wii_mc/boot.dol
        USB:/apps/wiimc/boot.dol
        USB:/apps/wii_mc/boot.dol

yes you should do a nand backup.
a forwarder wad wont write over a channel try installing your wad if the forwarder dont work then just uninstall it, if it does then you have the option of deleting either of them.

The NAND backup is the first job you do after installing HBC and BootMii. I've never understood that bit as if your saving your NAND then you must be saving HBC and BootMii as they are already installed? At least you can put it back to a basic Wii with HBC and BootMii.

I compiled the .dol so i called it "mine"

used custermize mii to make the wad from a base wad (which CK posted a few posts earlier), and used my .dol

Going to do my NAND backup as I dont have an up to date one> since various IOS installs channels etc.

A NAND backup is something you do before you make significant changes to your wii so that you do not have to reinstall everything that you have on it........Look at it as a restore point. You should always keep your original nand and keys then use another sd card to store an updated nand so that you can overwrite it before before installing anything that might brick your wii......Like Full channel loader wads or any new cios needed to run specific games

                            installed the wad on 249

shows on my channels (but there is only 1) i think the animations different so i think it may be the new one but........... black screen when launched.

any ideas? i noticed when i was using custermizemii there was a NAND setting set to comex or wakinoko it was on comex

in the end i did not change any info on your wad (CK) only changed the folder name to wiimc

Right... I should have just renamed the folder... not even used custermizemii.. gonna delete the dead one and start again.. too many late nights!!

update...installs ok but hangs loading... tried thro homebrew.. still hangs .... going to now reload the app and then hopefully it will work!!

                            Q. could the app rely on the folder name for anything?

What I'm saying is you're backing up the HBC and BootMii at the same time so it will restore with HBC and BootMii?

I give up.....backing up the nand is an ongoing process just like creating a system restore point on a pc not just a one time gig as it saves all your settings and installed programs that way if anything goes wrong you have a recent known working configuration and do not have to reinstall from scratch
