hi
i dont have any games on HDD yet, what format should it be in ? FAT32 ?
so basically i attach the HDD via USB then go to home brew channel then gx loader thing and the games should then appear somewhere on screen ?

what format should games on HDD be ? the ones on my pc are iso - do i need to do something else first ?

fat 32 is aslong as its not bigger that 1gig.
use Digital Kaos - Downloads - wii backupmanager 0.3.beta1 to put your iso's on the hdd then us gx to launch them.

If you are using gx then the hdd can be formatted to either fat 32 or wbfs the games on your pc should be iso and to instal them to hdd you need to use wii backup manager if you have formatted to fat 32 and wbfs manager if formatted to wbfs both these programs are available in dk downloads section and will convert the game iso into the format required for your wii to play them. There are pro's and cons to both formats and some more reading will explain them. But remember your wii will not recognize your hdd until there is a game on it whatever format you choose

Well the easiest method Mark it to download and install WBFS Manager 3.0. Insert your USB HDD select the drive letter for the drive and click Format button, it only takes a few seconds.

Click the Browse button on the right and find the iso file. Keep browsing for all your iso files then click Add to Drive.

You should have installed USB Loader GX with a Channel on the Wii menu. Insert your USB drive into the USB connector nearest the edge then power up the Wii. Click on USB Loader GX find you game and you are away. You can install Configurable USB Loader GX or WiiFlow those both do the same job but they all have different features, choose the one that suits your needs and put that Channel on your Wii menu.

Plus you don't say how old or the Wii menu version but you maybe able to burn the iso with ImgBurn to a DVD and play it straight of the DVD with NeoGamma.

thanks for all you replies, going to attempt it tonight. i dont have gx as a channel - its just via the HB CHANNEL at the moment.

another thing - when i ran the verify sums tjing i got 4 errors about hack file could not be found - will this mean i got a problem ??

on my 4.3e wii i have the following: hb channel with gxloader, neogamma and priiloader all installed.

the reason i am trying to do this is the disc drive seems to be knackered. keeps saying disc read error plese eject and power off...etc etc.
its doing it for every game now whixh as u can imagine drives me mad

check on the root of your sd card for a "hacks.ini" file (not folder).

tried to load game from HDD and it said looking for IOS 222 or 249 - not installed ??

what have i missed ???

PS the hack ini file is in root but it still says cant find it

reinstall all the wads again from the wad folder of this tut http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-3-mod-157379/ if they dont all install do them 1 by 1

download them.
if you know someones else with a hdd full of games you can swap iso's
or connect your hdd to another hacked wii and rip them that way.
or just try using your drive to rip them it only takes around 15 mins per game if you can get it to work have you tried a cd lens cleaner?

ok - just insert the disk and gc loader spots it.

all fine apart from mario kart - it doesnt work just a black screen when i load it after it tells me it install successfully on usb gx- any ideas

have you got priiloader installed?
are they both your region?

yip priiloader all sorted, games are my region - it was my game that i ripped onto the HDD. i tried to hack wii becuase i kept getting errors on most games about disc read etc. most others seem ok
