Help!! how do i play a game 4.3 softmodded

I've done the letter box crack on my black wii running 4.3e, every seemed to go fine, except it said bootmii can only be installed as an IOS

I have the homebrew channel there. clicked on it and i can see the bootmii thing, click on that then the controller seems to turn itself off ?

is there something else i need to do to play backup games as i have downloaded two, burn the img files but can get it going??

on my old wii i had the backup channel but cant see anything like that on here?

Black wii cannot play backup games from disc. They must be played from an external hard drive

That's true but there is only handfull of drives that can rip a wii game so I am assuming they are the only ones that can read the format. The other option is to put an old drive in out of a white wii but I think there is also something in the chip set that stops you doing that. It's cheaper and easier with an hdd

You have a large choice that include usb loader gx, uloader, cfg configurable loader wiiflow, and a few more, best thing to do is read up on them, there is a few good threads on here telling you what they do and how to install them

On 4.3 BootMii is installed on IOS.

Thats because as part of the Homebrew install you install BootMii on IOS. There is a part that says Prepare a SD card select that and it will make a BootMii folder on rhe SD card with files in it. Then when you try to use BootMii from Homebrew it will look for this folder if it can't find it will do nothing.

You can't use the remote to navigate through BootMii you have to use the Wii power button and the Wii reset button to select an item.

Yes there are a choice of USB Loaders you can use, I use USB Loader GX, Configurable USB Loader and WiiFlow on my 4.3 its simple to install? Each one has different ways of working so use the one that you think is best for you, I use USB Loader GX mainly.

Try having a play with uloader keith it is the only loader that allows you to use the hdd as an emulated nand (so that your game saves are on the hdd instead of the very small wii nand leaving space on the original nand for gamecube emulators and the likes) but it does only read wbfs at the moment. I done a tut on how to set up uloader this way

It's just a thought. I used to use gx but by the time the kids decided they needed a save file for every game about 400 gigs worth the only way forward was an emulated nand. I do think gx and wiiflow look better than uloader but it plays everything and has the bonus of the emulation

I save my saved games back to the SD card as a backup though there are a few that you can only erase not copy or move the Call of Duty games really.

Call of duty cannot be saved to an emulated nand either, neither can 007 goldeneye but the emulated nand can be set up to an sd card not just an hdd which just makes it easier as you can still backup to the sd but don't have to transfer the saves back to play them. In other words if you wanted to you could take your game saves to a mates house and play them on his wii as long as he is running uloader as well

But if it uses a WBFS formatted drive then how can you store the saved games on the drive then copy them of afterwards as you can't see anything on those drives?
