USB Loaders on a friends Wii 4.3E

    Hi guys.

I've just softmodded a friends 4.3E (who I only see once a month) the softmod was straight forward but I'm having trouble getting the USB Loaders to install. I softmodded a friends Wii and my Wii both 4.3E a few months ago so I know what files are needed.

USB Loaders need the cIOS249 to operate now I try to install these with Multi-Mod Manager 13.4 but it fails. I using the same wad files as I did on the other 2 Wiis and those installed. WAD Manager 1.7 does sweet FA you select IOS249 press A and it just sits there doing nothing the same goes for cIOSX_rev21-Installer. Yes I'm connected to the Network through my WiFi and router.

I followed the instructions in Wii USB Loader.

There are no proper instructions how to run cIOS36_rev9-Installer.dol the only dol on this download. I made a cios folder and renamed that dol to boot.dol bit it still does nothing.

The other problem I have is I can't install Priiloader 0.7. Its on the SD card and if I run it says IOS 58 rev 6176 at the top which I've installed then it goes through the file varification ok. Then password file not found and settings file deleted. Priiloader doesn't show up when I press the reset button as it does on mine so obviously it hasn't installed. The hacks.ini is in the SD root and hacks_hash.ini is in the Preloader folder.

Anyone have any suggestions how to get USB Loader GX or the other two USB Loaders?

    Cheers.

sounds like you dont have a patched ios36.
have you installed all the wads from the 4.3 tut?
if not, install them all then you can tweak the mod for your preference.

I presume your talking about your 4.3 mod tut but that only talks about modding a 4.3 it doesn't talk about USB Loaders. I've downloaded all the files in your tut but there is nothing I haven't got already? IOS36 installed its one of those that did with MMM.

Well MMM-61.zip (Multi-Mod Manager) has no cIOS wads.

4.3 hack files.zip has 5 cIOS files and I've tried to install them all with MMM but they wouldn't.

So am I missing a download?

you need to install all of the wads in order with mmm not just cios wads.

Yes I did but the main one for USB Loaders cIOS249[38]-v17.wad wouldn't.

USB Loader GX have there own web site but there is no suggestion of what wads you need or where to download them from?

I didn't try it once I tried it 3 or 4 times but it still wouldn't install everytime. As I said my friend went back home this afternoon so I would have to ask here to bring it back next time she comes up or email instructions to her husband.

I left Multi-Mod Manager 13.4 on the SD card and a couple of games Mahjongg Wii and Rokoban, Mplayer-CE, Wiimc and WiiEarth so she will have something to play with.

Now I couldn't get IOS236 to install from its seperate installer.

I thought you shouldn't install any IOS below 200 and I've never install IOS3.

                    As I said before I couldn't get cIOS249 ot IOS249 to install.

I wonder what Found 106 titles and 134 titles means?

                    Any thoughts on these sysChecks?

even so try install and patch ios36

                          [Changelog for v 13.4 - Sep 20, 2010]

                          Install & Patch IOS36:
                          - upgraded to support Nintendo's Sep7 IOS updates
                          - installs patched IOS36 as IOS36 & IOS236
                          - IOS36-64-v3608.wad used as base IOS

                          Important Note*
If your Wii has a non-working internet connection setup, a bug in Homebrew Channel 1.07 & 1.08 will crash any homebrew apps (including MMM) within seconds after launch. This affects apps launched in AHBPROT mode.

To disable AHBPROT mode, delete the "no_ios_reload" line from meta.xml file in MMM apps folder.

looking at your friends syscheck there is no trucha bug installed you cant just install the hb channel then install usb loaders and expect them to work.
you need to follow a tutorial and install a the wads in sequence for it to work.
try the patch and install ios36 with mmm to get the trucha bug restored or if that dont work try Trucha Bug Restorer 1.14 Original by WiiPower Mod by R2

If you look as both IOS36 and IOS58 they are the same on both Wii's. I know you don't just install HBC and the USB Loaders work.

I've never installed Trucha Bug Restorer on any Wii.

As I said in the other thread with NUS Downloader (NUSD) v1.9 is makes IOS's with different versions now to me the newest version should be better as with any upgrade.

So I've made two new wads IOS36-64-v3608.wad and IOS58-64-v6176.wad I will try those when I see her next.

                              Thanks again for your input.
