ISO to WBFS file on NTSC question

I have a game file. Let's call it GAME.iso. Instead of burning it to disc, can I simply change the file extension to .wbfs and drop it on my ntsc formatted hdd and play it through wiiflow or usbloader gx or comparable loader? Or do I need software to do something to it for me?

I've already gone to wiitdb and found the corresponding [xxxxxx] name so it will recognize it and load the cover art, but I'm leery to try it out as I don't want to F-up anything.

    Thoughts anyone?

If your hdd is formatted to wbfs use wbfs manager all you do is plug in your hdd to pc, open wbfs manager and select the iso on the pc, select to add it to hdd and the manager will do the rest.... By the way wbfs manager is in the downloads section

Now I've never used a NTFS formatted drive I've always used a WBFS formatted drive. WBFS Manager will only load iso files it won't load .wbfs files. I use Wii Game Manager 1.5.0.2 to open the wbfs file and convert it to an iso file.

        Google it.

Digital Kaos - Downloads - wii backupmanager 0.3.beta1 this will add your iso to an ntsc formatted drive in the correct format for the wii to read. Same procedure as wbfs manager connect hdd open manager add game to drive

Ok. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here. Gone to binload, grabbed a file from the correct region, unpacked it, got an .iso file. Used wii backupmanager 0.3.beta1 to convert it to a .wbfs extension, put it in games folder on hdd, selected it and I can hear the game music and see the wii remote warning ... even goes to game publisher ... then black screened.

              Any other suggestions?

AH HAH! Nevermind. New Problem. It looks like the .iso's have been scrubbed. What does that mean, and what do I do now?

Scrubbed just means that the file has had all the unnecessary zeros removed......I'll explain this.....if you look at the size of the wbfs file on your hdd they are all different file sizes which is the true size of the game but if you look at ANY game (not dual layer) iso it will be 4.37 gb this is because the file has been filled with zeros to fit the dvd it has been ripped from, and the games you mention will all work if you download the driver fix file from the driver thread and install both usb loader gx wad and cios 249 installer wad following the instructions in the fix file, just install the scrubbed file same as you would any other iso. If you find that your scrubbed file is a password protected rar file and you can't find the password give me a shout and I'll give you a very educated guess at the password

I already have usb loader gx and cios 249 installer wad. The thing is that the only games I've put on my wii hdd are from factory copies and copied using either wiiflow or usb loader gx. I've never done this like this before. Here's a screen capture of what's going on on my end.

Am I to just put the whole folder containing the .iso game like this? The top folder is my external hdd for the wii, the lower is the folder containing the .iso game.

Yes ImgBurn just burns the iso to a DVD. I thought you weren't playing DVDs?

Well as I've said I've never used a NTFS drive but I would assume you just copy the game iso to the drive root rather than a Mario game making a Mario folder and putting the iso in there. I don't think it matters what the name of the iso is because your USB Loader will sort it.

If I rename an iso to xyz.iso and load in into WBFS it still shows the name of the game so it must extract this info from the iso but you can rename that part to suit your needs.

I'm sure there must be a tutorial on here somewhere?
