D2X v7 cios pack and install instructions

I installed this Cios pack and started using Neogamma R9Beta50 but I was still getting errors.
Re-burned the game with better media and now it's working fine.

Hi lads only stumbled across this when you mentioned it in an earlier post Happy Highlander.

Is it necessary to install this?
The thing is im on an old usb Gx loader yet all of my games work and have none that dont work from what the kids tell me,and we must have 140 games now on hdd.

It's not necessary if you are good with what you have but this is the next generation of cios designed specifically with gx in mind and seem to be the only ones being updated now. They also allow you to use your hdd for game saves with gx meaning you load all your game saves from hdd instead of the wii true nand..Benefits are as much space as you need for game saves and dlc instead of 512mb on your wii. Full nand emulation is also in the pipeline that should rule out the need for cios to load games at all meaning that all games will run regardless of any ap that has been developed. Almost all the games released from now on will require these cios if any ap has been put on them. And by the way tintin still does not run properly from hdd even with the d2x pack.

Added Call of Duty 3 recently and that runs ok will know more once i put the Sonic London 2012 on and the latest Lego game.

Cod mw3 runs on the same settings as black ops. Mario 2012 and lego harry potter 5_7 both run on 249 with a base of (56) your 249 will have a base of (57) as I am assuming you used the black ops fix when it was released. With d2x it is 250 that has a (57) base for cod. They may still work with 249 but if they don't you know what to do. It takes about 3 mins to change to d2x and the latest gx.

Without sounding dumb do i only need to update their sd cards with the new wads when i decide to update them,that way can do them all off my own Wii.
Another thought can Gx be updated online as im sure its quite an old version,also has forwarder channel on it.
Trying to as little as possible.You know what kids are like when you take thier toys off them

I wouldn't update gx online there are known problems if you are going from version 1 to this version 2.3. Better to remove it completely from the sd. You can keep the forwarder channel, you just need to delete the gx folder from your apps folder and replace with the one from the pack. There are a few sets of files in the pack so make sure you put the correct one on the sd. When you read through them you will know what one it is. And as far as the wads go, just put them in your wad folder and install them with your wad manager. If you are still unsure, I can do you a wad pack with a wad manager and just the gx folder with required forwarder. This pack will also contain a full set of instructions. If you want to do it this way you will have to use an empty sd card so as not to confuse things with the wads you have on your existing card.

Just noticed another part of your question......The wads must be installed onto the wii that will be using them. So you will have to do both machines, but honestly mate it takes seconds.

Well I added cod mw3 and it wouldn't work it just showed the Loading.... screen on GX 2.3 I updated the D2x v7 and changed the IOS to 250 and it worked, now I'm assuming the 250 change that did it but it doesn't hurt to keep the system updated. I will install cod mw3 on my friends tomorrow and see if changeing to 250 or D2x v7 makes a difference.

I updated online a couple or weeks ago and 2.3 works just the same as the old 2.2 for me.

I know you updated mate but you are missing the list option from your top menu and if you notice in one if the earlier posts he says he is on an old version of gx and the main problems can happen (but not always) when updating from from version 1 to version 2 as the online update does not renew the config file in the gx folder it only updates the .dol

I'll do it today for you mate and you are in luck as they have just released a new gx today that supports full nand emulation same as triforce and mighty channels. Not sure how it works yet but I will try and find out.

Alright Andy here you go Digital Kaos - Downloads - Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 I have put this package together for you so that you don't have to mess with your existing wad folder. Just follow the instructions that I have put in the pack and you won't go wrong. If you do have any problems just shout up. But I have tested the package after I put it together for you.
