I've read reports that you power the HDD up before you power the Wii up then start your USB Loader that way the drive should have spun up ready.

Thats another thing don't leave your Wii powered up all the time if your not using it, as silly as it sounds they do wear out so I've read.

The reason I've suggested the other way round is because I used to have an old hdd in a caddy which was never recognized if switched on first but worked perfectly if I waited until gx was waiting for it before powering up

SPECIAL THANKS TO DIGITAL-KAOS TEAM. Notably KEITH, CK-OK & HAPPY HIGH....

Guys, It gives me an immense pleasure to sharing my happiness with you. As I have followed your tut & hints through loads of Questions & Answers, I had finally softmoded a White Wii Ver 4.3E. Though still having problem with my Black Wii 4.3E.

Nevertheless, with the White Wii it was so simple. It reads copied games be it DVDr or HDD.

Once more, MANY THANKS GUYS - without your kind help it wouldn't been possible.

        Cheers. MERCURY from MRU

The Wii colour shouldn't really make any difference. I softmodded a black Wii a couple of weeks ago and that went through smoothly without a hitch compared with the previous white Wii.
