i also have the d2x-v7 wad pack on my wii
now this is maybe a stupid question but i just want to know
    it

is it possible to change the basic in a wad : for example
    in the d2x-v7 the ios 246= ios246[38]-d2x-v7.wad
    what i want = ios246[56]-d2x-v7.wad

    is this possible?

    with kind regards

yes mate use the d2x cios installer with your wii connected to the internet and choose online install select your base as 56 and your cios slot as 246 and overwrite the 246 ios that is already installed but if your not sure how to do this I would read up a bit first on the d2x installer as I take no responsibility if you ~~~~ up your wii

It's pretty straight forward mate but just be sure that is what you want to do...I would do a fresh nand backup of your current working setup just incase you need to go back to it.

Just add all the wads from d2x v7 Final into the wad folder on the SD card and install them all with MMM or what ever WAD Manager you use.

Johnny can I ask why you want to use 246 with a 56 base instead of the usual 249

so that a game need another ios that i don't have
to search for the right ios with d2x-v7

and the 2nd reason is that i like to learning all about the wii
                  that's it
just to see what i am capable at

V7 is the final version so they are just as stable as v6 but if you need to have a play around with the cios download ios 56 wad and put it on the root of your sd card then put the d2x installer into an apps folder on the same sd card and launch the installer from hbc. Select offline install from your sd and select 56 as your base (the wad you have on sd) then select 246 as your slot and install. This will create a d2x ios 246 (56) it is pretty safe but the choice is yours. I would just use the tried and tested wads

I think you'll find Johnny that all the 3 miain USB Loader use IOS249 by default. You can change the IOS for a particular game in that game setting this is generally IOS250.

I think you'll find that dx2 v6 and dx2 v7 only have wads in that download file so they all need to be put in the wad folder not the apps folder. Though MMM will search for any wads in any folder.

Keith please don't take this personally but you haven't got a ~~~~in clue what your talking about. He wants to build his own d2x cios and base not use one of the standard setups

I don't take it personally I'm just quoting what you said and missed the installer.

Ok I've never needed to download a d2x installer I never knew there was one because they have only been wads in the rar file.

                          I'm sorry to correct you.

I have only ever uploaded the wads keith because they are much more newbie friendly, but for intermediate or advanced use the installer will allow you to compile your own cios with whatever base you want but requires the original ios wad for your base, this means when everybody is talking about what ios to use to launch backups the ones you have compiled with the installer may be different to the known setups and can end up causing confusion

only on the wii as far as I know..It's the only way I have ever made them anyway. There may be an emulator that will allow it to be done on the pc then run in sandbox for testing but it's not something I have ever looked into. they are cios you are making and not ios so they shouldn't brick the wii if you mess it up..the games just won't work, just never ever ever try to install anything into an ios slot below 200 and definately not a 2 digit slot or you will instantly brick your wii, you have been warned...If you use trusted base wads you should have no problems at all. I suppose the next question is likely to be where can I get trusted base wads...The safest place is straight out of your own nand backup you can be sure they will work with your console as long as the nand backup is the same version as what your wii currently is.
