I did do a Fat32 first but then i wbfs the hard drive, so does this mean i cant put anything else apart from wii games on? would i be able to try it or would it just mess everything up? and lose the games?

that is correct wbfs is for wii games only but you could try this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...2-ntfs-229900/ as it says this will convert your wbfs to fat32 without losing data

is it really safe? or is it always the best to make a backup first

You can save any game on a WBFS drive with WBFS Manager just select the game and click extract to a location.

I have only tested it on a small drive just to see if it worked and it was fine but I'm not so sure I would like to try it on a couple of hundred gig worth of data without a backup, but then if you are making a backup you can just format the drive without the need for this method

and if the program fails you are a couple of hundred gig lost
and you can start all over again

that's the big problem as no data recovery can read wbfs. When I changed my wbfs to fat 32 I left it overnight to transfer all the games as a backup then used aeseus to format the old wbfs partition, but if you don't have a spare drive big enough for a backup or a spare 9hrs or so then it may be the only option
