    uloader black screen

Upon loading uloader, I encounter the black screen of death. In the face of this challenger, I find myself in possession of naught but a limp wiimote.

The state of my wii is as follows:
    -no disk inside wii
    -SD card inside wii
    -USB drive in port 1

My wii is old. I recieved it a few years ago.
The last time I installed/used letterbomb, the homebrew channel, and uloader, was about one year ago.
The last time (the "before" time) that I used uloader, it worked. I am using the same SD card. I am using the same USB drive. The USB drive has the same games on it.

The condition of the USB drive is as follows:
    -formatted as wbfs
    -has games on it
    -worked before

The state of the wii software:
    -version 4.3U (same as before)

Things that i have done, experiments that I have tested, tests that I have run:
    -changing the usb port
    -removing an unrelated game disc
    -inserting an unrelated game disc
    -removing the SD card
    -inserting the SD card
    -removing the gamecube card
-turning it off and turning it back on again
-traveling to the 1920s and killing a fly

all combinations of the above tests have been tried

The contents of my SD card are as follows:
00000001.ThisIsAFolder (because this is actually a folder, not a file with an extension)
    bootmii.ThisIsAFoler
    private.ThisIsAFolder
    VCd.ThisIsAFolder
    APACHE-2.0.txt
    boot.elf
    CREDITS.txt
    installer.txt
    IOS36-64-v3351.wad
    IOS38-64-v3867.wad
    LICENSE.txt
    README.txt
    README-BootMii.txt
    README-HBC.txt

I am willing to provide any further information on the contents of the SD card and am willing to run any further tests on the wii.
    Thank you

You need to post a sysCheck19 report as instructed I that link so I can see which IOS's you've installed.

You should have more folders on the SD card depending on how may USB Loaders you using.

    I have:

apps folder where all apps that are used by HomeBrew are stored else nothing will work from HomeBrew.
config folder where all USB Loader GX game pictures and settings are stored.
private folder were saved games are stored of the Wii.
wad folder where the wads are stored for you to install.
usb-loader folder where all CFG USB Loader game pictures and settings are stored.
wiiflow folder where all Wiiflow USB Loader game pictures and settings are stored.

Do you have the USB Loaders showing on the Wii desktop?

There is a "wiiflow" folder in the apps folder.
There is no "config" folder. (where would I need to go to obtain one?)
      There is a "private" folder.
There is no "wad" folder. (where would I need to go to obtain one?)
There is a "usb-loader" folder in an "inSDRoot" folder in a "Cfg_USB_Loader_70" folder in the "apps" folder.

Please tell me if I should post folder contents.

I am not quite sure as to how I should answer your question; define "USB loaders" and "Wii desktop".

As you may have read on here that's a typical sysCheck of a Wii that's only been softmodded as you have 15 IOS's that are Stub. You need to reduce that 15 down to 4 or 5.

Download ModMii6.3.1 and run ModMii.exe from Windows. Use the SU option from the main menu and find the location of the sysCheck.csv from the sysCheck which is on the root of the SD card. That will download all missing wads and apps to COPY_TO_SD sub folder just add all files and folders to the SD card.

ModMii only installed 2 d2x v8.0 wads download d2x v8 Final wad pack and put these in the wad folder on the SD card, install all 7 wads when you install the other wads.

Put the SD card back in the Wii and run Homebrew. You already have IOS236 but it won't hurt to install it again. Run IOS236 Installer v5 Mod first before you install any other wads. Multi Mod Manager (MMM) should be the first app listed select it and load it. Once running scroll down to WAD Manager and press 'A' that will default to all wads in the wad folder. If you want to install all wads shown just press 1 that will list all wads you want to install press 'A' again to install them all.

Watch for the Installed OK message after each one. If any don't say that message make a note of the wad name and back out. Scroll down to the wad that didn't install and press the + button the put a green + next to it then press 'A' to see that wads name listed then press 'A' to install again.

Download PriiLoader 0.7 add it to the SD card and run it from Homebrew and set it to block online and disc updates, you can turn off the 'A' safety prompt on startup I do.

If you have to update to 4.3 then the Shopping Channel may not work. If it doesn't without doing another system update don't bother just install my RVL-Shopping-21

Do another sysCheck to make sure everything installed correctly and post that.

I don't know where you had USB Loader GX from but its on this site. USBLoader GX 3.0 All in one package ios 249 - Downloads - Digital Kaos That should produce the config folder on the SD card.

Then you just have a to find a compatible mains powered USB hard drive to add your games onto and download USB Loader GX 3.0 to run them.

I am at the fourth paragraph of your last post.

What is "IOS236 Installer v5 Mod"?
          Where do i get it?
Do I already have it and, if so, does it have a different name?
I clicked "IOS236 Installer/Uninstall". Is this the same thing?

IOS80 is not installing. (I used MMM and no other installation seemed to indicate failure.)
Trying to install IOS80 by itself does not change this.
Do I even need to install IOS80?

Again, I stopped at the fourth paragraph of the instructions in your last post. (I didn't stop reading; I just stopped doing because there were problems).
          Anyway, here is a sysCheck.

I've given you clear instructions that you need to do. IOS236 Installer v5 Mod and IOS249 are the main IOS's needed for USB Loaders, d2x v8.0 wads will cover all IOS's from 245 to 251.

This is my sysCheck after I softmodded my new Wii last year after the SD slot packed up. sysCheck #MKWDueNa

If you search for my posts you will see the exact same instruction given to everyone.

Every game on my mains powered 1TB USB drive works and I use WBFS Manager to add games to the drive.

If you want to remove IOS16 Stub just install my cIOS16-v257 it won't do anything for USB Loaders it just removes the Stub.

everything worked flawlessly. generated a full instruction step by step and VOILA! every game works without a problem (after formatting my drive to FAT32 via Wii Backup Manager 0.4.5 build78 (x64)

now my next question is this... "how would i be able to download all game covers?"
i tried doing it through Wii (usb loader etc) and it has some unresolved http error.
So to make it simpler, i do recal that this ModMii was able to get all the cheat codes and stack them on to the 8GM SDHC card,
              Question:
              a) can i do the same thing but with covers?
              b) is WiiBackupManager or WBFS manager capable of downloading covers and the exporting them to USB HDD or SDHC card?

              thanks

MAD PROPS for this tutorial! My kids are stoked about having all their games on one HDD without using cd's
(and less $ spent on buying the one's they keep scratching up)

"how would i be able to download all game covers?"

If your Wii is online you can download all game cover from all 3 USB Loaders. Once USB Loader GX starts press button 1 and tick all boxes then click OK.

If your Wii isn't online then you can use Wii Boxart and click on Search at the top. If you know the game ID number and if its PAL or NTSC you can search for that or any part of the game name.

You save each game cover to the correct folder on the SD card. All downloaded covers will have the same name don't mix them e.g. FIFA 13 PAL - S3FX69.png.
