    Uloader formatting ext SATA HD

    Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I have connected an 80GB hitachi sata drive to the wii to format it to wfbs via Uloader, but its been going about 10-15 minutes. I can hear the drive working, and the wii disc slot flashes blue (goes on & off), but just wondered is it actually formatting it or not? Its taking a long time, not sure how long and the screen is frozen on the screen that says Format WFBS, are you sure you can format? Yes in bottom right, no bottom left. I selected yes, then drive and its currently stuck?

    Do i let it continue?
Or do I disconnect it and format it via WFBS manager?

    Many thanks

hi ck, do I just switch it off at the mains or disconnect it whilst its in its frozen stage? I dont want to damage hard drive.

thanks ck, ok i formatted it via WFBS manager and it said that it had done it successfully, but when I plug it into wii and then start uloader the main screen doesnt give me option to run disc or run HD. Any ideas?

no i havent, i just formatted it first via wfbs manager. I had a game in the wii that i was about to copy via uloader, but it didnt let me do that. Seems like its not picking up the HD on the wii.

hi ck, the main issue is when i load uloader via HB channel, it loads up then straight away it flashes a very quick message (I saw something like CIOS) but then it just shows main screen and doesnt give me any option to either run from disc mode, or anything. I press home button but nothing works.

still nothing mate. It just flashes up this CISO message, but its so quick i cant read it then it freezes. also i noticed when i checked the disc properties on windows xp it said NTFS as apparently you cant format anything bigger than 32gb to FAT32, which is maybe what the drive needs to be formatted to before the wii or wfbs manager creates the wfbs partition. Could this be the problem?

without knowing the error i cant say what it is thats wrong
could be that you didnt install the cios 222/223 installer
try coverfloader http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...er-1-2a-91685/ to see if your usb is working

hey ck im sure i installed the cios 222/223 installer as i formatted a 2gb usb stick through uloader & copied wiiplay through uloader & it worked fine so must be a problem with formatting the drive even though its been done via wfbs manager.
what does coverfloader do? could i reinstall the cios 222/223 installer? but if it were a problem wouldn't the usb stick work?

coverfloader is just another usb launcher,if uloader gave you the option to format your drive then it has detected it, try reinstalling this Digital Kaos - Downloads - custom cios222v5 installer and try coverfloader, and is the hdd in a caddy case?

yes it is in a HD caddy, and is being connected via USB.
I have reformatted to FAT32 and now insert it into wii, load uloader and it says no WFBS partition found and then i try to format it, so letting it try but it looks like its doing the same thing as last night where it basically seems to just carry on trying to format it, takes a long time and doesnt seem like itsmaking any progress.

I also checked the CIOS 222/223 and when i try to install it via multi mod, it says ret 1 = error.
