Incidentally can I create an iso from an original wii game via imgburn? Will pc dvd read them?
Also do I just copy image across via wfbs?
Finally why do you think that when I format partition via wfbs it shows that 100% of hd space ois used?
This only seems to happen when I use wfbs manager to format.
I use an app called swisknife via xp to format the hd to fat32 which works great.
do I delete any partitions before using wfbs to format it? or do I create a partition?
    hanks again.
no you cant make a backup copy with your pc unless you a certain lg drive
to put iso's on the drive with wbfs manager just drag and drop them onto the left hand side of window
dont know why it says its full
if all you want is to put wii games on it then there is no need for a partition.
if that fails try taking the drive out the enclosure its in and run it without

Hi mate. Thanks I'll try this when I get home.
Just so I get it right. Are you suggestion that I reformat the HD to fat32 via swisknife and don't create any partition?
Then connect it to wfbs and then format it? Or try letting wii format it?
Also finally, you say try removing drive from enclosure. As its a laptop drive it needs the usb connector at the front. Do you mean just take it out of caddy but obviously still use front connector to connect via usb?
      Thanks.

format it with wbfs and put a iso on it and see if it works with coverfloader

ok i have reformatted the external HD to fat32 and then try to format it via wfbs and it basically does something that formats the drive but takes up 100% of it. When I go into my computer, it basically shows that the drive has 0 bytes used space, and 0 bytes free space. So effectively the wfbs is creating some kind of problem with this HD. For the wii to pick it up, it means that its ok to some degree. Any ideas?

                    A couple of additional points:

In Swisknife, I have the following options which may help:

Partition type: Set to Primary or Extended?
                    Volume Label: xxx
Set this partition to active: Yes or No?

Then it gives me option to split it between primary or unallocated. Any ideas?

hi mate, followed the tut which is great. however the problem seems to be wbfs manager 3. everything is fine until i use wbfs manager 3 to format drive. it formats it but after its done it & load drive it shows no free space. i add the iso file & it shows on right hand pane but when i ask it to transfer it to the drive says cant complete due to lack of free space. also noticed that bar indicator is all blue to show no free space.
i also looked under my computer on pc and says its a raw drive
                            any ideas?
                            thanks

Gave up trying with the SATA drives in the end so popped down to my local argos and purchased a 250gb seagate portable drive, which works a treat. All sorted now, wfbs manager works fine with it, as does some games. Thanks for all your help to date. I should have gone down this route to begin with rather than trying to use a drive I already had.
