    Dc2 chip and soft mod

    Hi guys
I had my wii chipped back in Dec 2007, with a Dc2 chip. It worked great, last year it started playing up and me not knowing much about these things I managed to install homebrew with the help of the net.

Unfortunately I managed to update my system playing a game. It is now on 4.2e, I have followed the guides and reinstalled homebrew, MMM, patched ios36, run title deleter and have tried uloader, but most of my copied disks will not play, saying the disks can not be read.

Is there something I have overlooked? Does it make sense to continue with a soft-mod or should I be looking at a way to flash the existing chip.

Sorry for the noobish questions, I just want to be able to play my games again,

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any replies

    what tut did you use?
did you follow it to the end?
have you tried launching games from a different cios like 222/223?
    do not update
can you name a few games that don't work?

Hi, many thanks for the quick reply, things do not seem as bad as when I wrote the first post, I have got most of the games working now

I have re-followed the tut in the sticky Wii 4.2E softmod tutorial. Easy to follow guide, method A.
Most of games are working now, although the ones that are not will not load with uloader on cios 222/223/224, I have even tried my old fave gecko 1.9.3 to no luck!

I can not play hasbro party night 2, hasbro party night 1, big brain academy wii degree, dora saves crystal kingdom, 101 in 1 party megamix these worked prior to updating to 4.2e The only correlation I can see between all the games no longer working are they are all white topped dvd's with a pale dye, all my silver tevion disks are working, and the majority of the other white topped disks are working, so later today I will copy a non-playing white disk and reburn to rule out the actual disks.

Out of curiosity I was reading about usb external HDD's is there any limit to the size of HDD that can be attached to the wii? Also if I was to plug in an external dvd rom drive could I try playing the games that are not working from there?

you really wont to be using a quality dvd-r like verbatim.
there is no size limit to the hdd,i use 1tb myself.
as for an external dvd rom drive iv'e never heard of anyone trying it,so let us know what happens.
